Crock-Pot Chicken With Homemade BBQ Sauce

It’s winter season. It’s cold and let’s say it’s the weekend. What are you going to cook for dinner that you can set and forget for a few hours so you can spend time with your family watching movies or play a board game or play outside in the show? Crock-pot dishes are the way to go. I made this Crock-Pot Chicken With Homemade BBQ Sauce last weekend and it was tangy, sweet, and finger-lickin’ good scrumptious.

Recipe: Crock-Pot Chicken With Homemade BBQ Sauce

  • 6-8 pieces of chicken(legs, thighs)
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp spicy brown mustard
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • drizzle of liquid smoke
  • sprinkle of salt and pepper

  1. Whisk together ketchup, brown sugar, water, apple cider vinegar, mustard, honey, liquid smoke, salt and pepper.
  2. Spread a little bit of the bbq sauce in the bottom of the crock-pot pan. Add the chicken pieces, Pour all the remaining bbq sauce on top of the chicken. Cover and set the crock-pot to HIGH setting. Cook for 4-5 hours.

This is so easy you can literally put all of this together and then go take a nap for a few hours.

Serve with mashed potatoes and corn.
