ALDUB’s “Destined To Be Yours” Pilot Episode Rating

If I remember it right, Gozon said “it can not fail” in reference to ALDUB’s first primetime teleserye. Well, technically, the pilot episode’s rating was not a failure but that’s expected because people are always curious when a new teleserye starts. However, for the supposed most anticipated teleserye of Eat Bulaga’s Kalyeserye duo aka the supposed most phenomenal love team, the 22.5 ratings from AGB and the 39 ads(but that might increase as days go by to average 52-60ads, maybe), that’s kind of low.

AGB RATINGS. How did the pilot episode of Destined to Be Yours fare in NUTAM (Nationwide Urban Television Audience Measurement) according to ratings supplier AGB Nielsen?

This light romance series, which airs after Encantadia, was able to defeat its rival program My Dear Heart, aired on ABS-CBN.
The first teleserye of AlDub got an AGB TV rating of 22.5%.

Meanwhile, the family drama of ABS-CBN registered a TV rating of 19.6%, or 2.9 points lower than its rival.

Destined to Be Yours aired from 8:48 PM to 9:39 PM.
My Dear Heart, topbilled by child star Nayomi Reyes and Zanjoe Marudo, aired from 8:58 PM to 9:43 PM

GMA Network promo/marketing team and some of the press members can sugarcoat it however they want but the truth remains, for all the ALDUB hype, that’s not impressive at all from the accidental love team who filled up an arena which SHOOK Twitter with 41M Tweets back in 2015. Alden Richards‘ previous teleseryes have had better pilot ratings than DTBY. I’ve read a lot of disappointed Tweets last Monday as well. Some even expressed how they’ve only tuned in “forthelab” and because they’ve missed Alden on primetime. Perhaps, DTBY will get better in the coming days so who knows.
