My Son Starts His College Journey

When I posted pictures of my son Caine on Facebook yesterday I was reminded by a friend of the times when he was little and we were all the Blogging Moms before blogs got bombarded with social media and whatnots. As a matter of fact, we can go back to the late 90’s. Oh those were the days.

Albeit virtually, my blogging friends have pretty much watched Caine grow up, as I’ve watched their children grow up as well. That’s how we all connected, through sharing of our families, food, thoughts, and advises. Believe it or not, parents have been sharing their children’s pictures and milestones for years without getting any bashing or judgement. We were all supportive of our journey and have continued to do so thanks to our social media presence.

Caine took a year off after graduating high school to figure out what he really wants to do, with a lot of encouragement from us, of course. There might have been a few screaming in between but that is the reality of parenthood and I challenge anyone who will say otherwise, HAH! Yesterday was his first day of college working towards his IT degree. The school is about 35 minutes drive from our house so that works out perfectly especially since his job is a 5-minute drive from ours. There’s no point living in a dorm or getting his own apartment. He’ll move out on his own eventually but for now we want him to focus on his college journey as a working student, basically.

So yeah, Caine is in college and in a week, Emma would be in 4th grade. This whole motherhood thing is SO WEIRD. My eyes keep producing water and I don’t really know how to stop it. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
