I realized a few days ago, about 2 days into my monthly menstruation that I did not feel any cramps at all a week before my period started and during the cycle. I backtracked what changes I have done health wise and the only thing that pops is the Insanity Workout. Before Insanity, my workout consisted of Hip Hop Abs, Pilates, Hip Hop Crunch, DWTS Latin Dance, Tae-Bo and elliptical bike. Not all in one day of course. In all of these workout regimen, I skip ‘em during my period coz I get painful cramps for about 2 weeks. That’s 1 week before the period and 1 week during the period even though I only have my period for 3 days. This is why even though I wanted to be consistent with my workout for years, there’s always that 2 weeks a month that sets me back.
With this monthly cycle, I didn’t even know I was going too get my period. I did have the usual PMS irritations and quick temper but I thought I was just generally pissed off for getting fired
. In any case, this monthly cycle came to me by surprise. I didn’t feel that it was coming at all. AND, I was able to do intense, crazy and insane workout with Insanity even during my period. If anyone has ever done Insanity, they know how hard this workout is and doing it with menstruation cramps is not a good idea. As it turns out, not only does exercise benefits weight lose and beyond, it diminishes menstrual cramps too. Well for me anyway. So once again, thank you Insanity!!!
