I just don’t understand it. Why would anyone do such a thing?. Why did it take so long to get the students out of there?

“He was very quiet, always by himself,” said Abdul Shash, a neighbor. Shash said Cho spent a lot of his free time playing basketball and would not respond if someone greeted him. He described the family as quiet.

South Korea’s Foreign Ministry expressed its condolences, saying that there was no known motive for the shootings and that South Korea hoped the tragedy would not “stir up racial prejudice or confrontation.”

I am just so numb about it. Danger is everywhere. We send our kids to school to learn. We entrust their safety to the school staff/administration. I’m not blaming the school for what happeend. It was the gunman and he alone knows the real reason why he did this. Everybody is saying he must have said something to someone. Maybe. But how can anyone know, really?. It is so complicated. I’m sure we’ll find out more in the coming days.

All we can do is offer prayers to the victims and their families. This is tragic and my heart is breaking. :( .

I know. I couldn’t believe it when they mentioned this yesterday on the news! I listened to the Fox News channel almost the whole day. It’s terrible! I can’t even imagine how their families/friends are feeling. :(

p.s. When they first said the gunman was asian, I thought, I hope he’s not pinoy!

I totally agree that it wasn’t the school’s fault. It’s easy for everyone to speculate what could have, should have been done. But it isn’t productive, what will help is doing the research using this tragic example and working on a resolution that keeps a campus community somewhat controlled as well safe.

Truth is, there’s no such thing as a safe campus! It gives parents a false sense of security, a little peace of mind for sending their children miles away. In reality, if the media were to get hold of what REALLY happens on campus, it would be damaging to the reputation.

You are right, it’s the gunman alone. I pity his family, they will be living a silent hell.
