My Son, The 4th Grade Bad-Ass

c4thgrade07.jpgThe 1st week of school and C has pretty much made a statement. 3 tickets YO. Yup, my bad-ass of a 4th grader came home with 3 tickets this week. First day, his offense was, “talking too much”.

Mom : What is so important that you felt the need to keep talking?

Caine : D and I were talking about lunch. We were wondering if the cafeteria is going to serve pizza.

Mom : Geez, that’s like early in the morning then. The day just started and you already got a ticket.

Dad : So what did you have lunch?

Caine : Pizza

3rd day, second ticket : “talking too much”

Mom : What is so important this time that you jut won’t hush up?

Caine : I was arguing with someone about the Moon’s gravity. He said there wasn’t gravity and I kept telling him there is

Mom : Well, only a little bit compare to the Earth’s gravity so technically you’re right but that’s besides the point.

On our way to get my haircut yesterday, I told my husband his son is a bad-ass. Seriously, 1 week of school and already 2 tickets. He’s making a statement. “Don’t screw with me you little punks and bullies looming around, coz I’m a bad-ass. I will talk and talk and talk. So step off…”

Guess what, when he got home yesterday, he brought the 3rd ticket home. This time it’s from horse playing around with other kids in the hallway and once again, talking too much.

FYI, this post was meant to be funny. My son knows the rules and he knows the consequences of his actions. My husband and I are being light and funny about it when he’s not in the room. Besides, it’s 1st week of school. For some reason though, I think his Teacher needs to loosen up a bit. Geez, does she expect her students to be robots? Instead of telling both kdis to shush during their Moon’s gravity argument, maybe she should’ve delved into it with all the kids? Just saying.

Anyhooo, So, is your kid a bad-ass like mine on his/her 1st week of school?

I think you’re right, his teacher might need to ease up a bit especially the whole gravity (or lack thereof) on the moon. She could’ve totally used it to segue into a discussion about our 8 planets (poor Pluto! lol) thus actually teaching the kids something new, obviously Caine & his friend were interested in the topic!

Meh. I hope she’s not singling him out or something. Grr, you know I’d help ya on that one hah.

yes I think I found it really cute that your son “talks too much”. He wasn’t talking nonsense and at least he wasn’t picking a fight . But of course rules are rules, you can’t laught it off in front of C. Hehe I found it funny. cute boy you have there. Teacher should lighten up.

I’d have to wait two more years to find out if my son will take after me. I used to bring home report cards with “too talkative” written on it. :-P

You said the teacher need to lighten up a bit. Very true. But in my case our teacher taught sign language to her other class of mute-deaf kids. Every time she was in our class she’d turn around when we’re a bit noisy & tell us she really prefers her other class over us. But really those kids were furiously signing behind her back! :-)

My sons would have said: “his teacher needs to take a chill pill”. First week and she’s handing out tickets already? She must have a really bad summer! ;)

sadly, kids are’nt allowed to act like kids anymore. they’re supposed to act like robots these days.
