Maturity and Expectations
This post doesn’t pertain to my son who is actually turning 11 at exactly 4:30am tomorrow morning. It’s about Jamie Foxx who I’ve always liked and respected. I was so happy for him when he won Oscar’s Best Actor for his role as Ray. I thought he was cool and I admired his substance as an actor, performer, and as the person. But things have changed these couple of weeks when he went on a tirade during his radio show against 16 yr old Miley Cyrus.
Here’s what Jamie Foxx said about Miley Cyrus :
“The one with all the gums? She’s got to get a gum transplant!”… “make a sex tape and grow up. Get like Britney Spears and do some heroin. Do like Lindsay Lohan … and get some crack in your pipe … That’s what I want.” (PEOPLE)
A few days later, Jamie apologized by saying he’s a comedian so we shouldn’t take what he says seriously.
After that incident I’ve lost respect towards Jamie Foxx. I like him as an actor and a performer but his personality has reached the bottom of the barrel for me. Not everyone likes Miley Cyrus, that’s understandable. But for a man of Jamie Foxx’s age and stature to be picking on her is just pathetic. How old is Jamie? and how old is Miley?
