Wish you Were Here

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd is one of my favorite ultimate songs in the world. It’s heartfelt, emotional, and it always brings me to tears when I listen to it. I think of my Mother when I hear this song. I also think about a friend who died from bad choices in his life and left a wife and a daughter. I think about the lost lives from 9/11, and other tragedies brought upon by war and natural disasters. I get emotional when my husband plays it in his guitar.

Then I heard Avril Lavigne’s own Wish You Were Here song and saw the video…

The Femme Fatale

I have listened to Britney Spears’  new album Femme Fatale many many many times and I will listen to it again, over and over again. If you want to be my friend, or at least for me to tolerate your presence in my life, you must understand my love for Britney. With all the stuff that she has been through, Britney has a soft spot in my heart. And I don’t care if she can’t really sing like the best belters out there. Or that her dancing skills have waned throughout the years. I can’t explain it. I will forever be a Britney fan, and I know how disgusting that sounds to some people but guess what, I couldn’t care less, Haha! Like they said, To Each It’s Own.

I saw this video on Facebook as a promo for Britney’s Femme Fatale Fall Tour and I just fell in love with it. It’s hot and the first thing I wanted to do was strip my clothes off and have my way with my husband. Except he wasn’t home yet so I had to drink a tall glass of cold water instead since I already took a shower this morning. That felt really good….

Britney’s Hold It Against Me

I’ve been looking forward to Britney Spears’ new album since I found out she’s coming out with another one way back last year. The album doesn’t drop until March but her new single is out with an electrifying concept of a video.

Rain Rain Rain…

rihannaumbrellaWhile some States are being snowed in, we’re getting rain here in NC. We got some last week and this week too. I now have Rihanna’s “Umbrella” song stuck in my head. Although last week’s rain asked for a nice cup of hot cocoa and a blanket, the rain today is a different story. It’s actually warm. Like 60° warm.

I don’t feel like doing anything but peruse the pretty bridal shower invitations online to get ideas on Scrapbooks layout while the last load of laundry is making a loud noise from the laundry room. But first, I must get something to eat then workout. This is day 3 of a productive week for me, in terms of house chores and fitness. YAY, Me!

Where In The World Is Joey Fatone?

joey-fatone-disney-playhouse-imaginary-movers

Joey Fatone who? You know, one of the guys from N’Sync. Guess where I found him? On Playhouse Disney of all places. My daughter was watching Imaginary Movers and when I looked at the TV there was Joey Fatone wearing a baseball uniform, talking about needing to find a solution to his dilemma which is being in two places at the same time.

Gwyneth Paltrow GLEE: Umbrella/Singing In The Rain

I love Gwyneth Paltrow and GLEE. I was elated when news spread out that Gwyneth Paltrow was going to be on GLEE as a substitute for Mr. Shue. Gwyneth showed her singing prowess in the movie DUETS years ago and then a weekend ago when she sang at the CMA Awards.

To make long story short, I enjoyed every bit of Gwyneth’s appearance on GLEE. Even when she wasn’t singing and dancing. Her acting was superb too, as always. The show’s finale was a mash-up of Singing In The Rain and Umbrella. I love it!

I’m looking forward to Gwyneth’s movie, Country Strong,  where she plays an alcoholic country singer. YAY!

Day 12: Something you never get compliments on.

Woman holding microphone (focus on microphone)

Blogging prompt for day 12th of 30 Days of Truth & Blessings is Something you never get compliments on.

To be honest, it took me a while to think about this which is why I’m just blogging about it now at 10pm. Coz you know, I’m freaking fabulous so I get complimented on pretty much everything. HAHAHAHA!

After a while, I thought of something I’d never get complimented on. My Singing. Why? Coz you wouldn’t actually hear me sing unless playfully on a Karaoke session which I haven’t done in a long long time. Why wouldn’t I sing? Coz I’m not good.

I mean I could carry a tune, and believe it or not, I used to sing in a choir back in my Elementary and High School days. Still, I know and have accepted that I am not a singer. I’ve discovered that when my husband critiqued my awful rendition of Bring Me To Life by Evanescence probably like 8 years ago. I thought I was rockin’ the song while cleaning my house when we were still living in New York. My husband who heard me shriek while he was outside doing some yard work disagreed. He said I was bad

Some wives would have gone to depression after that but I appreciated my husband for telling me the truth. I’d rather hear it from my him early on before I made a fool of myself thinking I’m all that and a bag of chips in front of other people and it turns out I suck. Right?

So yeah, unless you get me really really drunk with a bottle of Tequila, you probably won’t be able to drag me to sing Karaoke in front of a crowd anytime soon. That would prevent you from NOT giving me any compliments in my singing. :D
