Photo-A-Day Challenge: Guilty Pleasure
DAY 16TH: GUILTY PLEASURE – Instead of posting chocolate as my guilty pleasure, I figured today is the day to share that I like CW’s The Vampire Diaries. The truth is, I fought for a while not to get sucked into any vampire series because I really can not stand the Twilight series. Seriously, I abhor the Bella character. She’s the most worthless female character I’ve ever seen in a movie. The only reason I watched Twilight was out of curiosity because a lot of people were talking about the book and the movie. I wanted to know why. Although I felt like I’ve wasted hours watching 2 movies, I’m still glad I did. I can justify why I don’t like the female character, Haha.
Anyhoooooooooo so back to the The Vampire Diaries. As much as I love Paul Wesley(Stefan) whom I watched in CBS soap opera GUIDING LIGHT, and the Wolf Lake(CBS/UPN), I really was adamant in not watching a vampire series. But then a couple of weeks ago while flipping Netflix I keep seeing TVD. So I was like “yah know, we’re paying for this thing, I might as well watch what’s in here.” So I started to watch and ended up liking it. There goes the story of my new guilty pleasure. My husband came home the other day from work and asked if I’m still watching it. I told him not to judge me coz I’m only taking advantage of the money we’re paying Netflix, haha. I’m really hooked on TVP and if you’re wondering, YES, I’m with TEAM STEFAN. Oh, and that TVD is way better than Twilight, and I happen to like the female character Elena even though I really wish she’d just stop playing those two brothers along. Must be nice, Hah!
Look At Me, Look At Me
For the past few weeks, Hubby and I have been watching 3 seasons of Being Human, the UK version. We like it better than the US version but we’re still huge fans of the US version and looking forward to the upcoming season which will start on January 2012. The UK version is funnier. I just love the English humor. AND, the characters are actually cussing. Coz yah know, there are just situations in life wherein in an F word is appropriate. Since Being Human is a story about a ghost, werewolf, and vampire, you can pretty much expect a lot of unimaginable scenarios where irony and sarcasm deserve a big F bomb and a bunch of English terms that are just so hilarious.
We watch the series at night, after dinner, a couple of episodes per day. And sometimes, my daughter would like some attention from Mommy and Daddy so she would stand in front of the TV smiling and being the cutest Daddy’s Little Girl as can be. What’s a Mommy to do? Take pictures of course.
Sesame Street Memories
While going through a bunch of old pictures of my son the other day to pick a few shots for a 13th yr old birthday collage I was making, I came upon a lot of pictures where he was wearing Sesame Street clothes. Oh how he loved the little monsters down there. He had everything Sesame Street imaginable. From sesame street pajamas for babies, clothes, toys, books, videos, costumes, you name it, he owned it. His most favorite characters were Elmo and Ernie. He wasn’t particularly fond of Cookie Monster though but he tolerated him as much as he could.
I loved his Sesame Street Halloween costume which was a huge hit in the neighborhood during trick or treat night. He was definitely adorable in his countless sesame street pajamas too. If he could’ve lived in theme probably would have. I ‘m reminiscing on all these after seeing all the cute Sesame Street merchandise online. I love the personalized jammies showing letters and monster faces in the bold primary colors that Sesame Street characters are recognized by. I’m thinking of getting a pajama set for Emma in time for her birthday with either Elmo or Grover coz they are her favorites.
My Obsession With “WEEDS”
I can honestly say that I try my best not to get obsessed over certain things in life. Maybe a few things like shoes, chocolates, and all things pork. Well, let me add this dream of mine to have at least 3 fireplaces in my house with perfectly decorated fireplace mantels. It’s a good thing we’re in the process of planning our move back to New York so having 3 fireplaces totally make sense. We’ll surely be warm and cozy with 3 functioning fireplaces during winter. Since I’m talking about my attempts not to get obsessed with certain things in life, I’m just going to add one more on my short list of obsessions. And that is WEEDS. As in the awesomely written, brilliantly executed funny and witty show on Showtime WEEDS, headlined by the amazing award winning actress and oh so hot Mary-Louise Parker.
I’m Out Of NaBloPoMo
I woke up this morning and realized I forgot to blog yesterday. DARN. If I think about what I did yesterday, it’s not farfetched to blame the chores. Let’s see, after I did a bit of work online, I started the laundry, then swept and vacuum. I also did dishes (no dishwasher here
), cleaned the microwave, gave Emma a bath, folded laundry in between, and also put them away. I sliced pork steaks thinly to marinate in the fridge for dinner. Then I remember taking a shower sometime in the day when Hubs took the kids outside to play. After shower, I continued to fold the laundry and put them away too.
Then I started cooking dinner while doing more work online. After an hour or so, dinner time, then cleaning up time, then dishes time. After that, I enjoyed a bar of Milky Way Midnight Bar. I shared online how orgasmic it was. The kids were in their rooms watching DVD’s while Hubs was doing some work online. I sat in the couch, surfed channels but couldn’t find anything good to watch so I took a nap. I woke up in between and heard Daddy trying to convince Emma to take a nap with me instead of opening counters in the kitchen. She was looking for the chocolate bars coz she was with Daddy when he bought them. She and her brother got pops but I guess she wanted chocolate too but unfortunately, they were gone.
By 7:30pm, I decided to get up from the couch coz I had shows to watch on TV. While watching Wuthering Heights-Show Me Da Manny-The Next Iron Chef finale, the kids and I played with board games. Hi-Ho Cherrios, Candy Land, and Chutes & Ladders. The boy went to bed at 9:30pm coz he forgot the time while playing board games. 10pm was The Walking Dead on AMC. Hubs and I tried to get the girl to sleep as well but she refused to do so even though she was yawning real hard. It was almost 1am when Hubs and I finally turned the TV off in our bedroom to go to sleep.
In the middle of all that, I completely forgot to blog. Dammit. And it’s only a week and a few days left of NaBloPoMo too. Bummer. Oh well, I’ll try again next year.
Day 15: Something or someone you couldn’t live without, because you’ve tried living without it
Day 15th prompt from the 30 Days of Truth & Blessings is about Something or someone you couldn’t live without, because you’ve tried living without it.
I’d go for SOMETHING and it would be our Direct TV package. We’ve gone through life without it years ago and let me just say TV time was boring as hell. Some of my favorite shows are from Networks, but I also watch shows that are only found in cable channels or in our case, the satellite package from Direct TV.
I have to have the Food Network, The Cooking Channel(*new), TLC, Bravo, Travel, AMC, Lifetime, Bio, A&E, ID, Discovery, TMC, the Filipino package (Pinoy TV & TFC), satellite music channels and other ones I can’t think about right now. I’m sure the kids would say the cartoon and Disney channels if I ask what they like to watch. My husband would mention Spike, USA, and other ones I can’t remember.
So yeah, this is a superficial and materialistic answer to the question prompt but that’s my answer
.
