Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Day 17 of 30 Days of Truth and Blessings: A book you’ve read that changed your views on something.

It would definitely be The Purpose Driven Life: What Am I Here For? by Rick Warren. This book came to me and my husband 4 yrs ago. A time when our marriage and family life were in trouble. Without having to delve onto all the details, let’s just say that my husband and I found our purpose after a tumultuous year. We found our way back home. In our journey back to home, The Purpose Driven Life accompanied us through it.

We have a His and Hers copies of this book. We’ve read it before we went to bed. It was an enlightening experience for both of us which helped tremendously in building our relationship with God, ourselves as husband and wife, as individuals living in this earth, and the best parents we could possibly be to our children.

A lot has changed since that day 4 years ago when I thought everything would come crashing down on me and everything I believed in and stood for. This book has definitely changed not only our views on something, but A LOT of things.

Green grass, and a lot of trees are lined up in the back which serve as a peaceful and almost zen-live view from the back. A picturesque setting that I appreciate very much.

Photohunt theme today is Old-Fashioned. That’s me and my brother after Church. I was 4 yrs. old and he was 2. You could see the Church behind us. And if you look closely, a huge tree house which we always visited after Church and before heading off to our favorite restaurant for Sunday’s lunch. Ah memories. I was rocking the bob hairstyle before Suri Cruise, Kate Holmes and Victoria Posh started rocking it ;) . My blue dress with that wide white collar. Even then I preferred tights over leggings ;) . Look at me with my T-strap black mary janes. I was rocking my own shoulder bag too. My brother was wearing his own blue shirt and shorts outfit to match my blue :) .

My mother trained and cultivated my fashion sense. Fast forward to now, I blog for 3 fashion sites… LOL. Mother knows best :)

I have a bit of time to write about our Christmas. More pictures will be uploaded in flickr sometime. I’m still trying to catch up with work so I apologize if this is short and succint.

  • Christmas Eve was spent with the brother-in-law and his family. Christmas gifts exchange among the kids, while we gave them a family picture in a photo frame as a family gift. Had summer sausage, cheese, crackers, shrimp and cocktail sauce and then burgers and mac’n'cheese for dinner. Afterwards, we all went to Church for the Christmas Eve mass and candle lighting.
  • Once home, Caine left Santa his cookies. I told him if he wakes up at 4am I’m whopping his ass. Waited ’till they were both asleep and put more gifts under the tree and the stockings. Hubs and I sat on the floor in front of the Tree and watched TV with a bottle of Merlot. Even though we have a huge couch and reclining chair behind us, we preferred the floor. Under the blanket, we made fun of Charlie Sheen’s horrible clothes in his Two and a Half Men TV show. Hehehe.
  • Guess who woke up at 4:30am Christmas Day? ME..LOL. Hubby was whining but the truth was, he was already up to give Santa a glass of milk coz we forgot. Duhhhh. Cuddled for a bit and you know, then decided to get out of bed. C woke up afterwards and asked why we’re up when we told him the night before not to wake up too early. We told him to go back to bed but it was obvious he was too excited to go back so by 5am, we woke the baby up and opened gifts.
  • She was yawning the whole time. But as soon as she saw her new phones, she was happy. The kids made out like bandits of course. I received a new watch from the kiddos and a locket necklace from the hubs. Soooo pretty. Hubs got a new guitar :)
  • The Baby went back to sleep while Father and Son picked songs from the PC to put in his new Mp3 Player.
  • While C enjoyed his gifts in his room, hubs and I watched one of C’s new DVD, Spider-Man 3 while sharing a huge chocolate chip muffin and chugging on cups of coffee. We took turns trying to wake each other up :) .
  • For dinner, brother-in-law and his family came over for dinner, Guitar Hero 3 session and all that jazz. I beat one of my nephews in GH3 :)
  • And that’s all for now. Will write more when I find some extra time.

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and A Prosperous New Year. Hope you all have a wonderful time with your family and friends.

I feel I must apologize to everyone who comes and visit here everyday. I’m not really on hiatus. Far from it. I’m everywhere online but evidently, not in my own space in the web. *Sigh*. I don’t mean to just pop in once a week. Like in time for the Photo Hunts. But you know, after working all day, I just kinda settle down for the night, try to finish off some chores(my poor laundry is neglected a lot), and spend time with the family. I try to visit the people on my blogroll list at least twice a week. I swear I do. People who leaves comments as well. I try to comment on some, others are in blogspot website(mostly Photo Hunters) and for some reason I keep getting errors on those blogs. So I don’t have a choice but to leave without saying anything. Kinda rude but after clicking the comment box a few times and it’s giving me problems, I get really frustrated :( . So I apologize for that too. Ayayay.

I’ve been tagged with a lot of Memes and Award Badges and all that jazz. I’ll get to them sometime. I Promise. And Thank You for giving me the awards :)

It was our first ever Family of 4 Thanksgiving Day. It was wonderful. I cooked the whole thing, except the appetizer platter of course and pumpkin pie. We didn’t go for the traditional turkey coz well, I’m not really a Turkey person. So instead, we had herb-roast chicken. One was cooked in the oven, one was cooked in the crock-pot. We all had a good time. After dinner, we watched Shrek 3 on DVD.

Hope everyone had a nice one. Check out flickr for more pictures.
