Our Thanksgiving Day…

tgiving07-000.jpg

It was our first ever Family of 4 Thanksgiving Day. It was wonderful. I cooked the whole thing, except the appetizer platter of course and pumpkin pie. We didn’t go for the traditional turkey coz well, I’m not really a Turkey person. So instead, we had herb-roast chicken. One was cooked in the oven, one was cooked in the crock-pot. We all had a good time. After dinner, we watched Shrek 3 on DVD.

Hope everyone had a nice one. Check out flickr for more pictures.

Happy Thanksgiving From The Feisty Family :)

Photo Hunt 011 : I Love ____

ilove_.png

Everybody knows I love my Family. They’re my everything. But I’ve learned through the years and most especially from last year that I should also LOVE Myself. Of course I’ve loved myself in the past, but not as much as I should and not as hard as I love everyone else in my life.

This picture was taken a month(or 2) after I had my baby girl. It was after I had an epiphany. It was while I was going through a mild post-partum depression. I need to love myself for the sake of my family. I love them with all of my heart and mind. But I need to be physically healthy and strong to take care of them. I need to be mentally able to tackle life, day by day.

I love myself. I have self-respect. I don’t intentionally hurt people. I love myself enough to believe in the Golden Rule : “Do unto others what you want others do unto you”. I love myself to be aware of other’s feelings yet be able to speak my mind. I love myself to try to exercise everyday. I love myself to keep on learning. I love myself to smile everyday. To know that now matter how bad my day is going, there are other worse things in life in other parts of the world. And most importantly, I love myself to live life in God’s way.

Thanks to this Photo Hunt theme in reminding me about the other member of my family. MYSELF. I confess I haven’t been consistent in taking care of her. She’s been slacking in her daily exercise. She’s been using PMS to stuff herself silly. She can’t even remember the last time she read a book. So Thank You. And thanks to Scarlett O’Hara for uttering the best quote in starting your life over. “TOMORROW IS ANOTHER DAY“.

But of course, I must start today, to love myself again…….

Meet My Nephew

Congratulations to my brother Dante and his wife Karen. And Thank You for giving me a beautiful nephew.

dantrell-koby.jpg

Dantrell Koby looks just like my brother. OMG. When my brother left me a message and said the baby looks just like him, I told my husband, “I bet you he’s got his pouty lips”. Then I talked to my sister-in-law at 3 in the morning my time(they’re in the Philippines) she confirmed it. LOL. Then I see his picture and it’s just so surreal. He looks exactly like my brother.

A Stop At The Piggly Wiggly

pigglywiggly1.jpgWhat else should you do after hearing your child rave about eating ice cream during Children’s Church but to convince your husband, “Babe, ice cream sounds good right bout now”. Especially since it was like 100 degrees humid outside. You know life is good when you can just stop at a Piggly Wiggly to buy a $4 half-gallon fat free vanilla ice cream

pigglywiggly2.jpgSo peaches are .99cents/lb, bud potatoes are $1.79/lb, pork loins for $1.39/lb, split fryer breast for .99cents/lb, T-Bone Steaks for $4.99/lb, chuck roast for $2.29/lb, sugar for only $1.79, and Vienna sausages are 3 for $1. How much does your grocery store are selling these? :)

pigglywiggly3.jpg I do like my pork. The Piggly Wiggly head is cute eh?

pigglywiggly_icecream1.jpgAnd there’s the 2 scoops of ice cream with strawberry syrup that my daughter and I shared. Daddy had 2 servings of his own 2 scoops, while Caine has his own 2 scoops even though he already had ice cream at Church :)

Thank You

I only trust a few people in this world. And when I say trust, that also involves respect towards these people. This week has been very interesting but I’ve learned quite a lot. One of that is the appreciation I feel towards someone I have come to highly respect in these day and age. See, a friend was contemplating on making probably one of the hardest decisions in her life. There were many factors she had to think of to decide what she thinks is right for her. I appreciated the fact that she took the time to let me know. All I could offer was a listening shoulder and an understanding that sometimes a person just have to take that step in her life for her own betterment and growth.

You know what else I appreciated more? It’s the fact that not once, not even intimated in any of our conversations any hint on her part to persuade me to do anything. Not once did she put me in a situation where I had to pick a side. It never came up in the discussions. Not once, and I’m reiterating this to stop any assumptions. It was never brought up nor was it ever a part of our conversation. There was no manipulations, no insinuations, Nada, nothing involved to put me in a middle to decide my future. I appreciate the recognition that I’m a 30 yr old woman who is certainly capable of making decisions of her own without the outside influence thankyouverymuch. I appreciate friends like that. I have high regards towards people like that.

It’s not always you meet someone whom you could share a laugh with, disagree with in some issues, yet maintain civility and knowing people do have different opinions, personalities and lifestyle.

Therefore I say, thank you.

Vacation Bible School '07 Kick-Off

Last Sunday was the registration/kick-off day of our Church’s Vacation Bible School. Actually, it’s a new(3rd) Church that we’re going to. The 2nd Church we’ve been going for months is too big. We came from a small one and ever since we moved to our new place we’ve been looking for a similar one. Still the same denomination, of course. Last week, we recieved a flyer from the mail from Sardic Church so we decided to check it out this past Sunday. We liked it immediately. It just so happened they were getting their VBS ready as well so Hubby and I decided to register C in it.

He did it last year at our old Church, and I volunteered to help out with the 3rd-4th graders. I don’t think I’ll be doing it this year though. VBS lasts for 3 hours. I don’t think the baby can manage that. She’s never been away from me for that long period of time. She and her Father might experience a shock without me near their vicinity, LOL. Next year is probably the best time for me to get back in volunteering for VBS.

Anyhooo, we had some water activities outside, food at the Fellowship Hall, then homemade ice cream for dessert. It was really nice. The close knit community welcomed us with open arms.

I Love Cute and Cool Stuff :)

For lack of a better title. Sorry, heh. Anyhooo, After this post you’ll see “Click Comments” with little icons underneath it. Each icon represents something you feel about each blog. YAY. So not only can you write your comments in the comment box, you can kinda vote as well. I found it through Riz(guitarchic) at her PinkSeo blog. Only a few people know this but I’m a WordPress plug-in, errrr, dingbat? Sorry, I’m trying eliminate a few undesirable words in my vocabulary so I can’t say the word that starts with “w”. Darnnit. LOL. I haven’t actually done anything to dress up my blog lately, not that it needs anything since it’s already full of crappy ads that hasn’t realy rewarded me any cent, I thought PostReach would be something nifty to add.

And since you’re all here, I might as well use this space to link to all the blogging I’ve done across the internet. I’ll leave my Asides for now. I hope you Include them in your Friday/Weekend bloghopping links.

ADDENDUM : It sucks when someone you care about is feeling awful and you’d love to be there for them but because of distance you can only offer virtual hugs and thoughts. If there is one thing I’ve learned from last year it’s that things really do happen for a reason. And that if you ask HIM, he’ll grant you what you need in life. It might not be the thing that you think you want and need right now but one day you’ll realize that HE was right all along. My hugs, thoughts, and prayers to everyone who needs ‘em. HE is tapping YOU in the shoulder, it’s time to pay attention.
