Gosh Darn It, Where’s The Purple?
We had a bit of a setback here. I didn’t think those eggs were ever going to be dyed tonight and for the love of colorful eggs, how could I have not known that there were no purple tablet in the kit? She’s in a purple fix right now so purple this purple that, “Daddy, where’s my purple crayon”.. purple purple purple.
That’s why her nose in those pictures is too red. She just had to have a breakdown for 30 minutes before we could start. Sure why not. It’s not like I was going anywhere anyway…
What To Give A 14 Yr Old?
My son is tuning 14 this coming 25th of April. My husband asked me yesterday what we should get him for gifts. We actually have something hiding right that we know he’s going to go bananas for. We just want to get him another item. I mean, the kid has an iPod which he got for Christmas. We just gave him a $15 iTunes card the other day as part of his Easter gift. He already has Nintendo DS which he got in 2010 for Christmas. I can’t even think of games right now that he could play in it. The thing is, his sister is pretty much the one playing with it now since he’s got iPod. He’s got a computer. Books?, he’s got plenty. I’m thinking of 2 things right now. A cellphone is a cool gift. Most probably a pre-paid one from Virgin Mobile, or one of those tablets for his graphics. So it’s either those two and a birthday cake,

He Went Fishing And He Came Home With These!!!
Last Wednesday night, Scott decided he’d go fishing after work on Thursday night. Actually, he’d been planning it since that Monday. He usually goes fishing with Caine but this time around he decided he wanted to go alone. They went fishing the past week before too but they didn’t come home with anything. The last they they caught a really big one was back in August of 2011. So it went something like this.
Dad: I’m going fishing by myself tomorrow night
Caine: Why?
Mom: Coz he doesn’t love you enough….
Dad: Shut Up Dex!!!
Hahahaha! Yup, Mother of the year, I am NOT! For some reason, the line from a Will Ferrell movie(Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby) was in my head so it was the first thing that popped out of my mouth. It’s called sense of humor folks…. or years of therapy for my children. BTW, it was school night
.
Anyhooo, my husband went fishing and after a could of hours he came home, looking despondent telling me that he didn’t catch anything worth keeping when I asked if he caught any, then a few minutes later, he asked me to get the scale and camera to which I keep asking, “Scaling, Why?” It took me a few seconds to realize he wanted a scale AND camera, not scaling. Then I screamed and almost woke the sleeping squirrels outside. I probably did.
How’s Your Wednesday So Far?
So how’s your Wednesday so far? Mine is fine, thank you. I mean, DST kinda screwed up my brain for a bit this past Monday but I’m hanging in here. I haven’t been looking for skid steer for sale to help me clean up the girl’s room. In all fairness, it’s still pristine-ly organized(cough cough) after I just picked up legos and papers on the floor. Oh and crayons, markers, and hot wheels. As of this moment, the 3 drawers where the books are store are all opened but hey she’s being quiet reading all the Disney Princesses fairy tale stories.
I sure love tickling her feet after she refused to smile for the camera for me. She preferred to hide behind her favorite Care Bears pillow. we’re about to do puzzles in a bit so life is good, how about yours?
Fresh Flowers From The Yard
The flowers from outside are blooming just beautifully. These are just the first batch too. More will come I’m sure. And I haven’t even started my gardening yet.
My daughter and I picked some of the flowers this morning to put in a vase. Sooo pretty, no? Spring is here for sure.
The first picture, the flower looks like in pink. It’s actually red. Some have fallen on the ground but there are still in small buds in the process of blooming. I’ll wait for those to bloom then pick them for the vase in another week. Who doesn’t love fresh flowers in the house?

A Little Superficiality Wouldn’t Hurt
Give me a little bit of leeway in deluding myself that a little bit of superficiality wouldn’t hurt in raising my daughter into an independent, successful, confident, and strong woman. Doing girly stuff like putting a lipstick on is purely innocent and wouldn’t hurt her confidence in the future. Or how locking herself in the bathroom to play with my mascara to practice her gothic look last year is not going to hurt her one bit. Her father and I remind her all the time that she doesn’t really need makeup to be beautiful because she already is. But yah know, there are days when I slip and I completely go bananas when she mentions “makeup” after playing with cars and trucks most of the time.
A few weeks ago we had to go to the store for something so I was rushing her to get her jacket but she went to the bathroom instead so this is how the conversation went.
