Way To Go, ME!!
A little pat in the back is necessary and well-deserved for today. Perhaps a few cruises to Bermuda as a reward would be nice. I literally just finished my 1st day of Insanity’s Core Cardio and Balance week. That was my second workout of the day. I did Hip-Hop dance in the morning. I actually used to do Insanity in the morning or mid-day then extra light exercises at about 6 or 7pm. That’s after dinner time. However, I switched up my routine when January 2011 rolled. I decided to do the low-impact exercise during the day then the high impact Insanity early at night. My husband is home from work by then so just in case I hurt myself he’s here to do what’s necessary.
I’m not saying Insanity could hurt you, well, it depends how your health and stamina is, but this workout is not a joke so you have to be careful and always pay attention to Shaun T’s instruction so you’d do the routine the right way. If not, you might twist your ankle or hurt your back. I’m not trying to scare anyone of course. It’s just that my husband is always worried I’d hurt myself doing Insanity while he’s at work, and I have the little girl at home with me. So to give him a peace of mind, I’ve decided to do Insanity when he’s finally home.
First Day Of NaBloPoMo
It’s the 1st day of November, 1st day of November NaBloPoMo, and it’s Monday. For some reason I love it when that happens. Although I don’t know how often it happens in the calendar but I just love it. It feels like the new beginning, no? I figured this day deserves something better than reading up on phentermine reviews. How about a successful Insanity Fit Test and a good breakfast of butter croissant and peach yogurt?
Doesn’t that look delicious? I love Peach yogurt. My husband tried to sell me the banana cream pie flavored yogurt when we went grocery shopping but I adamantly told him that I prefer Peach. So to make his point, he took the banana cream pie yogurt for himself and firmly told me he likes it. So I told him FINE, but I’m getting my Peach
. The croissant, ahhh, so buttery goodness. I wanted another one but I’m supposed to be eating moderately so I’ll just save the other one for tomorrow. I love croissants as much as I love Peach yogurt.
I think I’m going to have a good 1st day of November, 1st day of November NaBloPoMo, and 1st day of the week. Try to have a good one yourself as well!
Emma’s First Knee Boo-Boo
If only we have a wooden swing set in the backyard, then we wouldn’t have to go for a walk at least 2 times a day. Then maybe we could’ve avoided Emma’s Boo-Boo last night. But then again, she could’ve avoided it too if she listened when I told her to slow down. She’d definitely could’ve avoided getting a knee boo-boo if she did what I told her before we even left the house.
And what would that be? Well, I told her to wear pants underneath the dress that she insisted to wear. She didn’t want to wear pants. As a matter of fact, she kept throwing the pants in the corner. I also told her to wear sneakers instead of her pink flats. She refused to do so.
Maybe next time, she’d listen to me.
PS: I don’t mind going for a walk at least 2 times a day. It’s a good exercise. I just don’t like being dragged away from the comfort of a nice A/C at noon to face the blazing heat outside. I prefer walking at around 6pm which is after dinner. No heat and I’m walking the calories off too

I’m Back With Shaun T But I Need V
So I’ve been doing the Insanity Workout this week. My Fit Test wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. I’m actually impressed by it. I’ll post the numbers when I find the notebook where I wrote my old Fit Test numbers so I can compare ‘em side by side. The other night the hubs and I talked about getting our abs back or at least getting it smaller, haha. He works out in the shed out back in the morning. I said Shaun T doesn’t do abs exercises. He doesn’t do any of the crunches and all that stuff. His workout routine will give you nice abs without doing sit-ups at all. My smart-alecky husband reminded me that Shaun T doesn’t actually need abs exercises. True, hehe.
Now that I’m doing Insanity again, I feel really week in the middle of the day. I find myself dozing off while learning what the heck Velo Bind is. Then it dawned on me that I haven’t been taking my vitamins. With Insanity workout, taking vitamins is a MUST, plus of course a good eating plan. While it’s good to have a healthy diet, plain salad won’t cut it with Insanity. You need to replenish your body with nutritious and substantial food to be able to do all the Insanity steps. One must be strong to last a 45 minute Insanity workout. Meat is definitely good, heh. Plus Vitamins. So yes, I better get on those vitamins which I really hate but I definitely need if I want to function during the day after working out.
It Hurts…… But It’s Good.
So I’m back to working out after a few weeks of not doing anything except for all the working out that came from the process of moving. My poor back really suffered big time. I did Pilates first to stretch my muscles and help me get my form and flexibility back. Now I’m doing Hip Hop Abs coz I really missed dancing. Now my whole body hurts. But it is a welcomed pain. You want to know how to lose weight really fast? You have to work at it. It’s called exercise and healthy diet. I’ve learned through out the years that quick fixes only work temporarily. Being fit and healthy is a lifetime commitment. It should be part of your lifestyle.
These days I work out to maintain a healthy living. Of course it would be hypocritical if I don’t mention losing weight as a motivator too. It always is but at this stage in my life, it’s not just about fitting back into size 6 anymore although that would be nice of course, Haha. But yah know what I’m saying, right?
Another week of this low-impact routine then I’ll do the Insanity again. Joy
but first, I think I’ll do Tae-Bo today.
Health Insurance
When my husband started his previous job, we were in the process of getting our health insurance package. But then I lost my job so we had to squash the initial package to adjust a few things to meet our finances. But then he started showing displeasure about the job so I was just waiting what his next move would be. Lo and behold, a new job for a higher position was posted in the website. Even though he hesitated for a bit to apply, he went for it. Hey, what could he lose, right? Well, he got the job like literally 3 hours after his interview. He’s been working with that job almost a month now. We’re moving to a new place on the 31st, and once everything has been unpacked and settled, we’ll be tackling the health insurance again.
I can’t remember what we had 3 years ago from his other old job but I think it was Blue Advantage. I remember being happy with it so I’m thinking we should go back to it this time around. Here comes paperwork and waiting period again but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do right?
I’m Not A Gym-Girl
I’ve never been a gym girl. I thought at first it’s because I can’t afford an annual membership. Well, that’s part of it but the thing is, I’m not really into fitness equipment. The times I went to the gym in the past, I was usually doing aerobics or dance classes. When I took advantage of the free Army gym in New York years ago, I pretty much avoided the equipments except for the treadmill.
My husband has fitness equipments in the garage but he’s the only one using them. Well I’ve used the stationary bike quite a few times and I liked it coz I could watch TV or read a book while working out but after a while, my butt hurt so I stopped that.
The fitness activities that never fails me are dancing, kickboxing, yoga, Pilates, and Insanity. I love how I could do all these in my living room with DVD’s, yoga mat, and 6-pounds weights. So I guess I’ll stick to them as my fitness equipments.
A Sensa What?
I was going through the product bins the other day to organize numerous items of product samples I’ve gotten in almost 2 years and found this Sensa dispenser in one the boxes. Sensa is supposed to be this powder food suppressant to help you lose weight. It looks like the black pepper dispenser. It has 2 different slots for 2 flavors. One for “sweet” and the other one is for “salty.” You’re supposed to sprinkle each flavor on the food you’re about to eat. Take a wild guess where each goes. The Sensa powder supposedly helps you eat less.
A few sites have written about a sensa scam though which is enough for me to realize why this dispenser still feels full. I might have sprinkled it on my food a couple of times to try if it really works but I don’t recall it having any effect whatsoever. Now I’m wondering why I still have it though. I’m actually disturbed by it so I guess it’s time to throw it away. It doesn’t really make a whole lot of sens-a to me
