More Cheese Curls For Me!
While working on a fashion post yesterday, I scrolled upon this picture of me from a couple of years ago while saving a picture in a folder. I remembered how I loved this particular outfit that day. Floral smocked top cinched with a wide red patent belt, worn over jeans, with my long beaded cross necklace. I thought I was very stylish. So I decided to post it as my Facebook profile. In the back of my mind, someone is going to say I’m fat. If not to my face, at least talk about me with other people I know. Paranoid much? Nahhh, just keepin’ it real.
When the guys went fishing after dinner, then my daughter fell asleep at about 8:30pm, I planted my behind in the couch, turned the laptop on and opened Facebook. I figured I’d chat it up with a few friends in there. Lo and behold, one friend sent me a message saying in Tagalog:
Thanks, I think……..
Because of Facebook, people from my past are popping up every 3 days, requesting to be added in Friend’s list. Truth be told, sometimes I have to dig deeper in my brain to remember who some of the people are. There’s one the other day whom after I accepted his request, sent me a message that made me smirk and roll my eyes at the same time. By the way, I sort of remember who he is.. LOL. Anyhooo, he said I still look pretty even after having 2 kids.
REALLY?? Interestingly enough, he’s a Filipino. I don’t want to open a can of worms but some Filipinos have the tendency to say comments like that. Yah know, complimentary comments with a touch of condescend and unintentional insult. Don’t even get me started on the weight topic… Errrmmmm…
So I decided to make a comparison. Before marriage and after 2 children.
Day 31 Of Project31 Shoes: Turquoise
For the last day of Project31 Shoes, I present to you, Michael Antonio Luna Pumps. This sexy turquoise with ankle straps saved me from completely losing it when I was sick back in January. When I couldn’t breathe, coughing non-stop and practically sneezing my brains out, I made a promise to myself that once I get better I’d buy something nice for myself. A pair of turquoise pumps is definitely nice and naughty! Actually, I picked Luna and my husband bought it as part of my 3 pairs of shoes for Valentine’s Day.
Day 30 Of Project31 Shoes: Espadrille #2
Meet Michael Antonio Harriet Espadrille. She’s one of the 3 shoes I got for Valentine’s Day from my husband. It’s new, clean and I haven’t worn it yet. I’m waiting for the weather to start warming up. I don’t want the wet dirt from rain to get my Harriet all dirty!!
Day 29 Of Project31 Shoes: Polka-Dots
This polka-dot flats is cute and comfy. A bargain purchase for $7. And I fit in size 8 with this.
Day 28 Of Project31 Shoes: Stacked
It’s quite funny that stacked style is coming back coz I’ve had this black stacked heels for 5 years now. Stacked heels are much more comfortable than skinny heels.
Day 27 Of Project31 Shoes: Floral Espadrille
I love wearing this floral espadrille with my white dresses. It’s fun for Spring and Summer seasons. You should get one!!
Day 26 Of Project31 Shoes: Animalistic #2
I haven’t found the full leopard print pumps that would make my heart beat non-stop upon seeing it but I’m quite happy with this leopard print platform strappy sandals. I either wear it bare-legged or with brown tights during Fall season. Either way is sexy in my opinion.
