Teenage Mom Duct Taped Her Own Toddler To The Wall

 mom-tapes-kids-wall-2 mom-tapes-kids-wall-1

I am just so disgusted at this Teenage Mom Jayla Hamm and boyfriend Corde Honea who tortured their 22 month old boy by duct taping him into the wall and then took pictures of him. They also duct taped his sippy cup into the wall while he tried so hard to reach for it. There are other pictures that I just can’t post here. Just Google and I’m sure links for the picture will pop up. It’s heartbreaking just looking at him trying to reach for his cup. The rest of the pictures are even more heartbreaking.

The Mom and boyfriend were supposedly high on drugs . The Mother got 10 days in jail and 2 years probation while the boyfriend got 34 to 60 months. WTF? Animal abusers get more than that. I can’t even think of what I’ll do first to that Mother if I see her. People like her and her boyfriend are a waste of earth’s space and resources. I wish Nebraska would protect that child coz it’s obvious that his own Mother can’t. Most everyone can have babies, but not everyone can be MOTHERS.

Thanks Budget, But You’re 2 Weeks Too Late

budget-moving-rentals-review Remember that worse move ever involving the BUDGET moving truck that was stuck in our driveway for almost a week? The truck is not in our driveway anymore. A local towing company towed it courtesy of the local BUDGET branch. But the truck is still in the towing company’s parking lot. I can’t help but laugh every time we drive by there and see the parked truck. Well there’s a new update. A week ago, the main BUDGET office or whatever called us. Yeah, that’s two weeks after my husband first called to let them know the key wouldn’t turn.

It was hilarious how the person on the other line was asking my husband if he tried this and that to get the truck moving. He just kept on giving suggestions on what we should do to fix the problem. As soon as my husband finally had the chance to talk, he let him know that it happened e weeks ago and the truck is not in our driveway anymore. Talk about late customer service. My husband dealt with the local branch but apparently, the main branch just heard of it a week ago, hehe. I mean could you just imagine what would have happened to us if we were actually moving out of state and the truck stopped in the middle of let’s say, Atlanta or Philadelphia highway? How long before the main BUDGET office will send anybody to “rescue” us? Whomever are working in the customer service desk should be looking for new customer service jobs coz I would’ve fired them if I was the main Boss of BUDGET. I mean, we could’ve moved to Mexico with their truck and they’d be none the wiser. DO’H.

I’m Paranoid To Get Out Of My House

Wouldn’t you be after reading about 2 different acid attacks on women BY women? A stranger just threw a cup of acid at Derri Velarde’s face. That happened in Arizona. The same thing happened to Bethany Storro of Vancouver, Washington. These attackers are supposedly strangers so what would motivate them to do such things? A Criminal Profiler for Inside Edition says:

Criminal profiler Pat Brown tells INSIDE EDITION why the perpetrators may have attacked: "There are people out in our society who just want to get back at other people. People they feel have made it in society, that are doing better than them," she says. "[They might be thinking] ‘Those pretty women, I’m not one of them, you think you’re so much better than me, guess what I’ve got waiting for you around the corner. (source)

Where is our world coming to? C’mon Ladies, where is the LOVE? Pictures of the victims and sketches of the assailants are posted at Inside Edition. Check them out and please be careful out there. I hope Derri Velarde and Bethany Storro are doing much better. I hope their attackers get caught soon.

No July 4th Pictures

I was pissed off last night. I was looking forward to getting my cotton candy fix and then watch an amazing fireworks show for the July 4th celebration, Unfortunately, my retarded-ass town didn’t have any last night. They decided to do it tonight instead. It was Sunday yesterday, with a gorgeous 82° weather. The spot where they usually hold the Independence celebration was dead as we drove by. So we went to get an ice cream instead. On our drive back, we saw a few people walking towards the spot. They didn’t see the small sign hiding behind leaves saying the celebration will be today. I was lucky enough to see it when we first drove by.

I’m not sure if we’re going tonight though. The excitement has passed. Bummer. But we’ll see. I might change my mind and drag everyone by 9pm (fireworks at 9:30pm) to watch the fireworks.

Being A Grown Up

Bill stamped paid

Being a grown up means bills and more bills. You gotta have a job of course to pay those pesky bills. It’s hard to find a good job that pays well to cover all monthly bills these days. We can’t always be thinking about jobs and bills too. Gotta think of fun activities for the whole family for quality time. Of course, sometimes you have to pay for those. Being a grown up means learning how to balance everything.

Ayayay. It’s so stressful being a grown up, no? I’m not complaining. Well, maybe I am. Just a little bit. It’s just you know, dealing with the realities in life. There are like I said, bills, insurance quotes, school, car payments, weekend activities, food, a little bit of shopping here and there coz kids do need clothes and shoes. They grow like weeds after all. Oh good Lord, don’t get me started with saving for college.

Am I stressed out? A little bit. I want my Mommy. *sigh*

Recyclable Drop-Offs For Electronics & Old Gadgets

Trash bin with recycle sign

Tomorrow (April 22nd) is Earth Day so I thought I’d share with everyone what I just learned from the April issue of Reader’s Digest in regards to getting rid of electronics and gadgets. Around this time around we’re doing our Spring Cleaning so this info will come in handy. AND, if you’re in the process of moving or upgrading old appliances/gadgets and  wondering where else you could drop off the old ones to recycle, here are the places around the US to drop them off.

Best Buy – A free kiosk is provided for CDs, DVDs, cell phones, and ink-jet cartridges. For $10 fee, you can drop off larger items like TVs (32 inches and under), computer monitors, laptops, and DVD players with a limit of 2 items per household. I think Best Buy gives out $10 gift card in return. Don’t quote me on that please :) .

Oh Hi Self, Where Have You Been?

Oh nowhere, just here, busy, doing, nothing! Every time I tell myself, “I need to blog there, I need to blog there”, I get lazy and do something else instead. I’m not avoiding this blog, it’s just one of those things when I’ve got so much stuff running in my head that I wanted to write about but I get a writer’s block once I finally get to it. So yeah. I’ll be back tomorrow. I hope, hehehe. :)

Getting The Pink Slip, Twice. Or Was That 4 Times?

Last month I was part of a mass-firing that happened with a blogging network I’ve worked for since 2007. I lost 2 jobs from that. Last week, I was once again part of another mass-firing from the same network for the remaining 2 problogging jobs. So yes, try getting fired 2 times in a matter of weeks.

I got mad, even cried coz the jobs I lost were practically my “babies”. I was also sad for my colleagues. We didn’t just lose our jobs, we lost our sense of community as well. But the truth of the matter is, that sense of community went missing when some changes happened a year ago. Interestingly enough though, that community is now back because like they said, there’s always a rainbow after the rain.

As for me, after taking the time to react as calmly and professional as I could and reflect on the whole situation, I had to do something. Looking for new opportunities was the first step. Doing job searches on a web directory is part of the first step. Fortunately, there are a lot of free web directory out there that helps out in searching for blogging jobs. From Google, I found the Blogging Jobs twitter which posts various blogging and writing job opportunities online. Another place I’ve been searching at is of course the Yahoo directory. I’ve discovered from these directories that  there are a lot of opportunities there waiting to be clicked and considered. My former colleagues and I are also helping each other out by passing along any information we could gather in our searches along the way. We’re all experiencing the same thing and taking this new journey in our lives one day at a time so.

We may have gotten our pink slips twice, thrice, 4 times, 5 times, or more (1 blogger usually have 3 or more topics they write for), in a manner which leaves a sour note, but we are driven, knowledgeable, and hard-working people so we’ll definitely be fine. Most of us have now  ventured into striking on our own by building our own blogs. Nothing is going to keep us down. This whole experience has empowered us to strive for something better and greater with our head held high. So Watch Out Folks…… :)
