One of the things my daughter and I enjoy doing besides cooking together is doing crafts. I wish I remember to take pictures of our craft times but sometimes I find myself being so in the task that I completely forget about the camera. That’s a bummer for making memories especially for a scrapbooker like me but sometimes it’s good too. This generation is too obsessed with taking pictures of everything that we forget to feel the moment. Like were there doing something but we’re too busy trying to take the best shot. Hey, I’m guilty of that a lot so no judging here.

Anyhooo, my favorite place to go to for ideas is Personal Creations. If you connect on their Facebook page, you’ll get not only craft ideas to do with your kids, the page also provide tips and tricks on daily chores, store sales, and a nice community for parents, crafters, etc. So check’em out when you can. Personal Creations just posted a link for making play-doh so I think that’s our next project. Wish us luck.

Everyone who knows me knows how much I LOVE SHOES. My dear mother-in-law is one of those people. She definitely made my Christmas really cool thanks to the shoes calendar that she gave me as a Christmas gift. It’s literally a page-a-day gallery of shoes. 1 shoes/per day.

The shoes featured varied from the ones I’d definitely wear, to the artistically designed couture shoes that would look so great in a closet to show off to at museums or display cabinets at home.

The calendar is supposed to be for my office desk but since the desk is already filled with my paraphernalia, I decided to put it in the end table right next to the couch. The end table that holds the laptop which is technically my husband’s end table since he’s the one who always sits on the side of the couch that’s near it. Now he can look at women’s shoes everyday in calendar form as well. Haha!

You can have the same shoes calendar by purchasing it at Workman for $15.99.

We are all busy starting or finishing up our Christmas shopping and looking for awesome deals. One store I love because of its amazing sales and deals is Kohl’s. That’s one of the stores I shop at for my children clothes, especially during back-to-school and Christmas seasons. I also love their affordable home items and toys. If you happen to be an avid Kohl’s shopper, then visit my house sometime, you’ll recognize some of the home decorations from there. I love the contemporary style, colors, and of course, affordable prices.

Speaking of affordable prices just in time for Christmas, Kohl’s is having its 2-day specials as part of the Christmas countdown sale. Up to 60% off for selected fine jewelry. Check out the department like the Kids toys, kitchen items, home decors, handbags, fragrances, and others for more savings.

First there was Snuggie, which in all logic and purposes, is actually cool. Who wouldn’t want to be wrapped around all warm and snug by a soft large blanket, right? But what about ForeverLazy? It’s like a jumbo version of a onesie pajamas.

I suppose it’s something nice and cozy to wear at home when lounging around, reading a book, playing board games or video games, or watching TV. I don’t know about tailgating, or going outdoors with it on though. That’s just definitely plain lazy. Well, I guess the name ForeverLazy is quite apropos.

The Christmas decorations are up. The Christmas Tree is in the same place like last year and it has the same ornaments. My husband was surprised that I was able to pull out all the boxes from the storage. Ah, easy peasy. He was also wondering if I was going to do it today and was planning to tell me to do it on Tuesday since it’s his day off so he can help me out. The thought was nice but I know the kids have been looking forward to the the tree so I did it all today. All Christmas décors including the stockings, wreaths, knick knacks, dolls, garlands and Christmas countdown calendar, except the lights outside. Hubby promised the kids to do it next weekend unless he gets the motivation to pull out the staple gun on Tuesday of course.

I’ll take pictures of the other Christmas decorations tomorrow for yearly posterity. How about you guys? Is you tree up this year?

I’ll deal with Thanksgiving Day first. Christmas and New Year will be dealt with after Turkey Day. That includes decorating the Christmas tree which I’m looking forward to. I’ve written my Thanksgiving Day menu, bought the stuff I need and just thinking about making sure I thaw my 12-pound turkey. I might go to the store for some last minute items but overall I think  dinner is pretty much ready.

Right now I’m just cleaning up the house here and there. Maybe I should’ve kept the flyer that a durham house cleaning service brought by a couple of weeks ago. Chances are though, I’d probably clean up before any cleaning crew comes here so they wouldn’t think we’re such slobs? I know a few people who actually does that, Haha.

My back is hurting and I feel like my knees are about to give up on me any minute now but I actually feel good. After my workout and shower today I decided to a little bit of rearranging in my daughter’s room. I threw away toys that are just stashed in the bottom of her toy bins, and fast food restaurants toys that have been collected for years. I went every space and corners of the house picking up lego pieces and cleared up one bit just for them. I swept and swiffered her floor. I picked on dried up candies and gums on the floor and rearranged her Disney table, Disney chest box and desk table. I also went thru all her DVD cases and put the DVD’s back into the right cases.

And thennnnnnnnnn, I finally pinned her posters in the wall. That’s after a year of living here, haha. To make it more cozy, I placed a pastel stripes rug in between her bed and TV stand. I figured she could dump her legos in her own rug instead of hauling off a bucket of legos into the living room to dump in the rug. Yah know, keep the legos in her own space. I wish I took a picture of before and after coz it’s really nice in there.

After her room, I cleaned up the bathroom just to get it over with. I’ll just have to go through the stuff in the cabinets tomorrow.

martha-stewart-cricut

I have been so out of the loop with the latest Cricut releases so I was surprised to see the Martha Stewart collection while reading her magazine courtesy of my mother-in-law who brought along a bag of cooking and lifestyle magazines weeks ago when they came for a visit from NY. I don’t know why I was surprised actually since it’s Martha Stewart after all. I think her collaboration with Cricut started in 2010. I’m not sure though. Like I’ve said, I have been so out of the loop with current happenings from the craft department. It’s more on a self-imposed obliviousness on all craft products. I can’t afford them so I have to step back to avoid going crazy.
