Dress Up For The Holidays
It’s that time around when we’re all thinking about what to wear for a Holiday party. Some of us are lucky to have been invited to at least 5 parties. Well, I call that lucky because I happen to love dressing up. There’s an online store called DressCodeFormal.com which sells all sorts of special occasion dresses. So the store is not just for the Holidays. You should check it out for any special occasion you’ll be attending throughout the year. I’m picking a few cocktail dresses that would be perfect for the Holidays coz the prices are very affordable right now.
This strapless chiffon tiered gown with gold splatter embellishments used to be $119 (retail price $238) but is now on sale for $79. It’s very elegant yet trendy at the same time. The gold accents gets you in holiday spirit that’s for sure.
If you want something a little bit more flirty, check out this charmeuse dress with a beaded detail on the sweetheart neckline. It’s also on sale for $79. I’d pick the purple one myself.
If you like ruffles, how about this sheer ruffled halter dress with 2-tier skirt? It’s chic and flirty for a nice dinner party. This one is one sale for $69.
I don’t know about you but I’d buy 1 of each for myself especially with those amazing sale prices.
Geez Woman, Clean Your House
One day my husband said, “Jesus Christ I’m surprised you two are not bald yet”
All I could do was exclaimed in agreement ala Monica. “I KNNNOOOOWWWWW”
That’s hair from 3 bedrooms, hallway and living room. 2 days worth of no sweeping. You should see the hair I swept from the kitchen.
No thanks? No really, you should…
Well, it’s not that bad, no? So maybe you should see the hair from the 5 days worth of no sweeping.
Nahhhh, I’m not that mean. And I’m not that lazy either to let my floors go on without being swept for 5 days.
Sitting here whistling and waiting for the thunder to strike me dead………
Whewwww……… Thank You Sun!!
I need to do two things. 1st, change our shampoos. I’ve been using Clairol Herbal Essences for months coz I can’t find Sunsilk at Wal-Mart. It’s like, why would I go to a different store just to get Sunsilk for my hair, yah know. I’ll refer to pictures 1 and 2 from now on. The little girl is using Suave Kids smoothers. Gotta try a new brand for her too.
2nd thing to do, I shouldn’t wait for my husband to call me Dexie Jane Rivera Wharton just so I’d sweep the floor. He’s not my Father after all. Hmmmph.
Oh don’t judge me. When I said I have chores to do it doesn’t mean I’m actually good at doing house chores or that I’d actually do them that day. Pffft!
Christmas Cards Tree
I’ve come to realize that I’d have a better chance finding an acne cream in this house than the crystal seahorse ornament for the Christmas Tree. I can’t think of any other place where it could be at this point. My husband said it’s around here somewhere. Yeah, that’s helping with my frustration.
But I digress.
I actually want to show my Christmas Cards Tree. I’ve always incorporated the Christmas cards that we receive from family and friends in my Christmas decorations ever year. I’ve had them in an arch-like style for years back in New York and even in the 2 previous houses we’ve lived in here in NC. I couldn’t do the same in this new house but I created something much better.
I have this tree plant standing in the left corner of the living room. I decided to wrap a single-strand red beads around it then carefully placed old Christmas cards all around. I think it looks nice. My son thought it’s pretty cool.
I love it. There are trees on each corner of the living room. The right side is the Christmas tree. So if you have a similar tree plant in your house, turn it into a Christmas Cards Tree with all the Christmas cards from family and friends that you’ll be getting this year. Make sure to have scotch tape ready to help the cards stay steady on the tree.
Mosaic Tiles For Your Kitchen?
Are you looking into getting your kitchen walls remodeled? Ever thought of having it done in mosaic tiles? I wouldn’t mind it myself. I’d have to wait for a while though before I could get that for my kitchen. I’ll just add it my “dream house list” which is getting longer by the minute. I’m leaning towards glass and aluminum but the copper and stainless steel look good too. I guess I’ll make that decision once I actually have to. It’s nice to dream for now though. My problem is, I’m always dreaming about what my kitchen should look like and what it should have. My husband is going to have a conniption someday, hehehe.
Insurance Rates
Everything is being argued about and everyone has something to say about the Health Bill and Medicare. Those people in Washington need to find a way to make it all work for everyone. Meanwhile, it’s up to us to pick which carriers we can afford that would suit our respective families. Not only that, we also have to comparing ratings for all companies for our life insurances. That is if you decide to have one of course. In any case, search for more than 2 or 3 and just compare. You’d be surprised what’s out there. Call the numbers and talk to the representatives. Sometimes talking to people makes a lot of difference too. I’m sure they’ll all try to sell their company but listen to your instincts then look at all the facts. In short, read everything.

My Business Dreams
A few nights ago while lying down in the bed trying so hard to fall asleep, my mind wandered on that time that I suddenly find myself with loads of money. Besides buying a house, retirement, vacations, and making sure the kids have mutual funds to fall back on for the rest of their lives, I thought about venturing into a business. 2 actually. One involves food, of course. The other one involves fashion and shopping. Yup, I want to have a boutique. I want a franchise here in the US and then several ones in the Philippines. It’s definitely nice to dream, no?
But first I must learn the ins and outs of building my own businesses. This is where gmat prep comes in. It will test my knowledge Math and English that’s determine if I can handle the business programs in school. I’d have to go to school for it which would be really awesome coz believe it or now, I love going to school. Since I already have money that suddenly just landed in my lap, I’ll be able to afford school for myself. I’d probably take Culinary courses on the side too for the food business. Since GMAT Prep is online, I can go to class in my jammies. I can study whenever and wherever, pretty much. I can talk to my teachers online if need be as well.
Yah know, these are things I think about. Now if only I know when that money I’ve been dreaming about would come in.
Mounted Or Stand?
I’m talking about tv stands by the way. When we were doing our living room makeover, Hubs and I went back and forth about whether we should get a tv stand or have the TV mounted in the wall. I wanted the TV stand. I just didn’t like the look of the TV screen hanging in the wall like a picture frame. I also thought about during my work out. I was afraid the TV will drop because of all my movements I make, heh. I’m sure it will be secured safe but I’m just paranoid that way. Therefore, my husband went with my choice of a TV stand which worked out perfectly coz I also like all the storage space.
PS: The picture was the living room of the old house.
