I may not be into working capital financing but I sure love scrapbooking. And golly did my creativity juices flowed yesterday. I created 3 pages, WOOHOO. It feels like it’s been 75 years since the last page I created. My husband came home from work with all my scrapbooking paraphernalia on the floor in the living room, while I was fighting with the Cricut coz the needle kept getting stuck while creating the letters for “mom” which I used for a page of ME.

Yes, the first page I created in 2012 is about me, well, sort of. Since I was inspired to scrapbook I figured I’d start with my beautiful face. I figured it’ll inspire me to create more pages. It worked coz I created 2 more after that. This page went into the Family Album circa 2006-2007-2008.

One of the things my daughter and I enjoy doing besides cooking together is doing crafts. I wish I remember to take pictures of our craft times but sometimes I find myself being so in the task that I completely forget about the camera. That’s a bummer for making memories especially for a scrapbooker like me but sometimes it’s good too. This generation is too obsessed with taking pictures of everything that we forget to feel the moment. Like were there doing something but we’re too busy trying to take the best shot. Hey, I’m guilty of that a lot so no judging here.

Anyhooo, my favorite place to go to for ideas is Personal Creations. If you connect on their Facebook page, you’ll get not only craft ideas to do with your kids, the page also provide tips and tricks on daily chores, store sales, and a nice community for parents, crafters, etc. So check’em out when you can. Personal Creations just posted a link for making play-doh so I think that’s our next project. Wish us luck.

martha-stewart-cricut

I have been so out of the loop with the latest Cricut releases so I was surprised to see the Martha Stewart collection while reading her magazine courtesy of my mother-in-law who brought along a bag of cooking and lifestyle magazines weeks ago when they came for a visit from NY. I don’t know why I was surprised actually since it’s Martha Stewart after all. I think her collaboration with Cricut started in 2010. I’m not sure though. Like I’ve said, I have been so out of the loop with current happenings from the craft department. It’s more on a self-imposed obliviousness on all craft products. I can’t afford them so I have to step back to avoid going crazy.

thank-you-card

I need to do some dusting around my work station. Well, if you ask my husband he’d probably say the whole house altogether. But we don’t want to ask him, do we? I could literally see dust flakes on top of my Cricut machine which makes me itch. Not in a bad scratchy manner but I’m itching to so some crafts this weekend. If not some creative crafts like customized toilet paper roll, perhaps some personalized note cards, thank you cards, and do a few pages for my scrapbook albums. Now all I need is some inspiration to get me started.

I thought about the idea of making a customized toilet paper roll telescope while waiting for my daughter to finish her bathroom business at 2am today. She saw the empty toilet paper roll in the sink counter, placed it in her one eye directed at me, then said “you’re funny.” I suppose I looked funny to her coz my eyes were halfway closed, hair all messed up, and looking all sleepy.

xmas-cards-2010

Finally, I got our Christmas cards. Just like in previous years, I created our card out of the pictures I took of the kids last week. I put it my order for 30 copies at Wal-Mart on Saturday but I only got it last night coz Wal-Mart photo studio couldn’t find it. The lady insisted that they didn’t have it when my husband tried to pick it up after work. I  told my husband over the phone while he was in the store that it’s there and that the lady is probably just lazy to look harder or she just didn’t know where to look. He tried to calm me down saying he’ll go back the next day with the confirmation e-mail even though he really didn’t need it.

So after work yesterday, Hubs went back there and guess what? the cards were there. Of course. This different lady said her co-worker was probably looking at the wrong place. She must have read my mind, hah.

These cards will be out tomorrow morning. YAY. This Christmas task will be done. BTW, the photo card is like an insert for the store-bought Christmas card. I do it this way because the store-bought cards have envelopes. So instead of going nuts looking for envelopes big enough to fit 4×6 photo cards, you might as well buy the cards too.

The 1st page of 2009 Book was the Snow Day which I posted back in September of 2009. Now here’s the page 2, a year later, LOL. I am so freaking behind it’s ridiculous. And this page was 3-day in the making coz every time I get a chance to work on it, I’m either distracted by work, chores, or being bugged by the kids. I finished it quickly last night so I can work on page 3, soon. Wish me luck.

With the new house, besides the garage, we had to give up a very spacious office room. So our office furniture have been divided into two rooms. My husband took the corner in the master’s bedroom while I took the corner in the living room. It’s a good thing that both rooms have sufficient spaces in the corner to accommodate our desks. We had to forgo the middle circular part of the desks though so technically, our desks have been consolidated to fit nicely in each corners. No biggie coz they’re still big enough.

The other side of my desk is also my craft area where I do my scrapbooking. This is where my dilemma comes in coz I have to really organize everything aesthetically and conveniently. This is how my scrapbooking/craft space looks like right now.

I want to get rid of that big scrapbook cart, hence the big circle with an X in it, heh. It is such an eyesore next to that storage drawer. I know what you’re saying though. The whole thing looks like an eyesore.. Haha! I might buy pretty little boxes to replace those 2 drawer insets underneath the Cricut and printer. But I want to buy an organizer trolley holder first to replace that black cart. I  might get this one from Target.

I’ll have to buy the extra clear paper organizers and small boxes for other scrapbook paraphernalia too though but that’s fine. The trolley factor is a must so I can pull it out easily to get what I need then pull it back when I’m finished.  I’ll post an after pictures once I get it.
