2009 Book: Page 2: Bad Hair Day?
The 1st page of 2009 Book was the Snow Day which I posted back in September of 2009. Now here’s the page 2, a year later, LOL. I am so freaking behind it’s ridiculous. And this page was 3-day in the making coz every time I get a chance to work on it, I’m either distracted by work, chores, or being bugged by the kids. I finished it quickly last night so I can work on page 3, soon. Wish me luck.
Picture Frames: Polka Dot paper, cut with scallop design scissor.
Text Frame: Plain white paper, cut with scallop design scissor.
Decors: Tulips, daisy, orange flower cut outs.
Cramped Craft Corner
With the new house, besides the garage, we had to give up a very spacious office room. So our office furniture have been divided into two rooms. My husband took the corner in the master’s bedroom while I took the corner in the living room. It’s a good thing that both rooms have sufficient spaces in the corner to accommodate our desks. We had to forgo the middle circular part of the desks though so technically, our desks have been consolidated to fit nicely in each corners. No biggie coz they’re still big enough.
The other side of my desk is also my craft area where I do my scrapbooking. This is where my dilemma comes in coz I have to really organize everything aesthetically and conveniently. This is how my scrapbooking/craft space looks like right now.
I want to get rid of that big scrapbook cart, hence the big circle with an X in it, heh. It is such an eyesore next to that storage drawer. I know what you’re saying though. The whole thing looks like an eyesore.. Haha! I might buy pretty little boxes to replace those 2 drawer insets underneath the Cricut and printer. But I want to buy an organizer trolley holder first to replace that black cart. I might get this one from Target.
I’ll have to buy the extra clear paper organizers and small boxes for other scrapbook paraphernalia too though but that’s fine. The trolley factor is a must so I can pull it out easily to get what I need then pull it back when I’m finished. I’ll post an after pictures once I get it.
Pages 2 & 3 Of Summer Vacation 2008 Book
While perusing the Scrapbook Files in this little blog of mine I felt the urge to scrapbook this weekend. So with the help of my Canon Pixma Photo Printer I went ahead and printed some pictures from our 2008 Summer Vacation in Virginia Beach. Yup 2008. I am so behind in my scrapbooking that I have folders and folders of pictures stored in the hard drive. I’m just lucky to have a techy Hubby coz he makes sure to equip my computer with an online backup to protect my files. I know there are a few reasons why I keep him, hehe.
These are pages 2 and 3 of the summer 2008 book. Page 1 is here. I created block styling on the 2nd page using different prints, a few travel stickers and “1st day” lettering using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge for the Cricut. And I just realized the last row is not aligned with the 1st and 2nd. Accck. Oh well. The 3rd page is simple with 2 pictures of the nearby buildings across our hotel room, tags and letterings from the Plantin cartridge as well.
These are 2 simple pages to get me motivated again in scrapbooking. I don’t want to build stacks of memories I want put in pages. I’ll create more this weekend.
A Tip For Father’s Day Gifts
Wow, can you believe Father’s Day is fast approaching? Wasn’t it just Mother’s Day the other day? These occasions are very special but they could get very expensive too. Well, we could always start with Home-made cards. You don’t even have to have the Cricut really to make one. You can buy the paper supplies and a few embellishments from the $Store or Wal-mart, or Target. Get a scissor and glue, then gather the kids to make a really nice Father’s Day card. That would probably mean more than a new car in the garage, well, a little bit, LOL.
My point is, I think that’s what I would do with the kids for the Hubby, then I’ll make 2 different ones for my Father-in-Law and my Dad. And because I just looked at my calendar, I would be able to make the cards early on. Woohooo, I actually on top of things, plus I’m saving money too. Hallmark is already rich after all
. Now off to search for a perfect gift for dad to attach the card onto that doesn’t necessarily cost an arm or a leg.
Home-made Mother’s Day Card
Mother’s Day was last week but I waited until now to post the Mother’s Day card I made for my Mother-In-Law using my trusted Cricut Expression.
It’s a simple card created with the help of 2 different cartridges, Plantin Schoolbook and Opposites Attract, plus a shimmery 3D butterfly sticker.
Happy Mother’s Day
Happy Mother’s Day to everyone. I hope you’re all having a wonderful one. God Bless.
Scallop Edge Book, Magnetic Frames, and Vellums
A month ago, a new Outlet store called Ollie’s opened a few minutes drive from us so naturally we had to check it out. While a bit disorganized, the outlet store has a lot of great stuff in affordable prices. After perusing the entire store we came home with new curtains, bed sheet set, books, and 4 Disney Princesses Tin Can (collectibles) with shortbread cookies.
There were other stuff I wanted to get but not having enough "play money" to go around I decided to wait. As along as I got 3 sets of curtains for $2 each, $12 Queen Size sheets set, 4 books for $1 each, and the 4 Disney Princesses tin can with cookies for $1.50 each I was happy
.
