I saw this 7 Red Things At Home photoblog meme at Shai’s Studio. Even though she didn’t tag me to do it, I’m doing it because it’s such a neat idea. I’m whiney when it comes to blog meme tags but there are some that I like, 7 Red Things At Home is one of them.

So what are these 7 red things…

1. Day Planner/Address Book  — I’ve had this for almost 10 years. I pretty much just refill it after each year. Speaking of, I need to get 2010 fillers.
2. Silk Red Roses – Hubs and I made a pact years and years ago that instead of fresh roses on Valentine’s Day that will die after a week or so, he’ll give me a silk rose instead. This way I’ll have them forever and the silk roses will accumulate through the years.
3. Music Pod – Some kind of a music control thingamajig that Hubs uses when he’s recording or jamming with his guitars.
4. Encyclopedia – The 1st part of our Encyclopedia series. These, along with 2 other sets of books are the heaviest to carry when moving. Every time we move I cuss at them for being so heavy but could never find the courage to take them to Salvation Army. They might be annoying come moving time but who’s stupid enough to get rid of a set of Encyclopedia?
5. Tickle Me Elmo – This was my son’s toy when he was little and obsessed with everything Sesame Street. Tickle Me Elmo was the hottest thing years ago. Some people have been hurt in stores trying to get one of this. Now the baby girl has inherited it, along with other Sesame Street collectibles.
6. Red Boots – Emma’s red patent boots. Saw ‘em and I couldn’t think of an excuse not to buy a pair.
7. Red Gladiator Strappy Pumps – Hot and sexy, and well, you can’t be a shoeholic without a pair (or 2 or 3, hehe) of red hot shoes.

We gave away our sleds when we moved to NC coz we knew it doesn’t snow here or not much at all. But after this weekend, we thought, we should at least buy 1 and keep in the shed just in case we get another snow next year. That way Daddy doesn’t have to turn a tarp into one. She didn’t mind though. She loved every minute of it .

BTW, the viney-wirey thing you see there is a grape vine thingie. During Summer, there are grapes all over it.

This is like my very very very late entry for Wordless Wednesday .

I told Caine to make a Snow Angel. HIs sister saw what he was doing so she decided to make one for herself too. Of course they stepped all over the snow angels when they stood up so I wasn’t able to take pictures of their masterpieces. DO’H!

So we spent a lot more. It’s ok coz it’s worth it. Our previous leather sectional cost us less than $1000 coz it was from a Warehouse and we’ve had it for 4 years. It’s still in good condition and I’m confident I could sell it for $250 or so. We just really wanted a new set of couch that would match any house. The grey-leather sectional was kind of an eyesore after a few years, hehe.

I’ll take a picture of the new couch after our new TV stand get here in 2 weeks. I had to order it online and it’ll take about 2 weeks to get here. We’re trying to get our living room finished then next is the Master’s Bedroom. That would probably be around Christmas..:lol:

So this was the Before picture (9:35pm) while the snow dropped on us on January 29th. People went crazy in the grocery stores before that snow hit us. Even the liquor store had traffic .

And this is how it looked like when we woke up the following day, January 30th. And that’s pretty much it. Last year was so much better. I almost miss New York. At least there I know I’d really get snowed in… hehehe. I have more pictures sometime this week.

THE WAS AWESOME!!

I’m a bargain shopper but you know, sometimes I also like to indulge on designer ones.. I’ve closed those 3 windows and only have the one with Neiman Marcus site. So wish me luck!!

Well, a few hours after we got home which was around 7pm, it was chilly and the sky was calm, it’s 9:35 now, and ladies and gentlemen, behold, the snow!!

The kids are going bonkers coz they want to play outside now. Especially Emma. But we told them to wait until tomorrow when there’s more snow on the ground. I’m actually excited too. So excited that my husband stealthily put a snowball on my back while I was putting watermarks on the pictures. I’m wearing a dress so the snowball traveled all the way down to my butt. That was freaking cold…

I hope the snow sticks around and that we get more like last year so we could play outside tomorrow. At least  know it’s not going to stay for a long time. Just long enough for the kids to have fun in the snow again. Good thing it’s the weekend. What better way to spend the weekend than outside throwing snowballs and making Snow Angels?

What’s so good about this whole job experience thing is, my Husband left a job from the company he also left early on 2009 to work at home. He left in his own terms and was in good terms with the Management. When they called to offer him a job around summer time, the working at home thing was a little tricky at that point because of the economy. So that phone call was nice. While Hubs has a good working relationship with the Management, after a few months he felt he had to look for a better-paying job with good benefits. They understood him. Interestingly enough, this company is actually being transferred in 6 months or so. Hubs didn’t find out about it until a week ago so it’s really a good thing he already found a new one.

When Hubs left yesterday, one of the Bosses told him that if things don’t work out with this new job, he can call him anytime. That’s a nice thing to know.
