Shopping For Toys
There’s only 3 more days before Christmas. I hope that parents did their research online the toys that made it to the list of lead recall. The year 2009 alone had a lot and most of these toys were made in Asian countries namely China and Vietnam. Even the years before that got scary because of lead news. Some of the toys included on this recall list of 2009 because of lead content were jewelry kits, purses, fishing pole, pen cases, animal masks, action figures from $ Stores, sports balls, dinosaur playsets, and even girls’ shoes just to name a few. 2010 lead recalls on the other hand included cloth books, horse toy figures from Blip Toys, bicycle bells, bracelets from Chandigarh Fashion, and basketball-shaped chair and ottoman.
To tell you the truth, I got paranoid and had this conspiracy theory in my head that China is trying to remove America in the map with all the lead recalls that were reported. I mean, was it coincidental? I know, crazy huh? No offense to China of course. I’m sure I wasn’t the only parent who wanted a epa approved lead test kit right there and then to test every toy purchased as soon as they got home from the store. It actually wouldn’t hurt to get one just in case.
We can’t be lackadaisical when it comes to our children’s safety.
