Dingdong Dantes On Joining Politics

Every election time in the Philippines, Dingdong Dantes‘ name come up as one of the many notable names running for a position. Reactions are mixed. Some fans would prefer it if he doesn’t because politics is dirty and would be disruptive to his family members. That is totally an understanble thought. There are the ones who think another celebrity shouldn’t be joining politics(yet somehow some would then wins and not all are qualified, hmmm). And then there’s a chapter of people who are confident that Dingdong could very well be a good candidate who could do a lot. More than what he’s doing now as a private citizen. I’m the latter. If I could vote in the Philippines, I’d vote for him.

Dingdong Dantes has done a lot in helping the Filipinos and the country albeit not being a politician through his YESPinoy Foundation and numerous personal charity endeavors. He’s got the knowledge in social issues, has NO criminal record, I’m pretty sure he pays taxes on time, and is certainly a decent person. He is more qualified than the one who won the top Senate spot. I’d bet my life on that, HAH!

In Fast Talk With Boy Abunda, Dingdong is quite pragmatic about any kind of decisions when it comes to joining politics. He recognizes the fact that it’s not easy. That it takes time, energy, and tremendous sacrifice. And with that comes realization of his multiple roles as a husband, father, son, a responbile member of the Entertainnment industry while striving to be a good citizen. Interestingly enough, he’s not completely closing the door yet because like he said in his interview, it depends on the circumstance. Things happen between now and 5 to 10 years. Not giving a definite NO is sensible and a smart thing to do because he might possibly give it a go one day therefore political pundits and naysayers wouldn’t be able to pull out this video someday to accuse him of stating otherwise.
