Mango Habanero Chicken Wings

Hubby and I like the Mango Habanero Wings from Domino’s but we haven’t had them in a while. A week before the Super Bowl I saw a bottle of Mango Habanero sauce from Wal-Mart. I was like, get in the cart LFG! ☺️😅 It’s from a brand I like too, Sweet Baby Ray’s. I buy the same brand for BBQ sauces and Sweet Chili Sauce as well. So anyway, long story short, I made Mango Habanero Chicken Wings for our Super Bowl grub, along with Coleslaw for the side and Bleu Cheese dressing for dipping.

I made 2 kinds of chicken wings that night. The usual Hot Wings and these Mango Habanero wings. It was definitely winner winner chicken dinner. Topped of course by the win from Chief’s and the attendace of Taylor Swift. It was a good night for sure.

Mango Habanero Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 1 pack chicken wings
  • 2 cups flour for breading
  • 2 tsp garlic powder divided
  • sprinkles of salt and pepper
  • vegetable oil for deep frying
  • 1 cup Mango Habanero sauce divided
  • 1/2 stick butter melted, divided

Instructions

  • Separate the wingtips from the little drumsticks. Season the chicken wings with 1 tsp garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  • Combine flour, remaining garlic powder, salt and pepper in a ziploc bag. Drench the chicken wings in the flour mixture.
  • Heat up a deep frying pot. Put oil in a deep frying pot or pan. Use medium heat.
  • Turn the oven on to the lowest temperature. Use this to keep the cooked wings warm while you cook the wings in batches.
  • Once the oil is hot, start deep frying. Fry in batches. Do not overcrowd. Cook each side of the chicken wings about 8-10 minutes(or longer, depends on the size of the wings.
  • Place the wings in a sheet pan. Stick 'em in the oven to keep warm while frying up the rest of the wings.
  • Melt the butter in the microwave. In a mixing bowl, pour 1/2 cup of the Mango Habanero sauce. Stir in half of the melted butter.
  • Add a few pieces of the cooked wings, stirring to coat evenly.
  • Transfer into a serving platter or board. Repeat the process with the remaining wings.

The Mango Habanero sauce is hot but adding butter to it will tone it down a bit. (NOT A SPONSORED POST)

Yummy yummy, Mango Habanero Chicken wings plus the regular hot wings, with Coleslaw and Bleu Cheese for dipping.
