September 2024 Reads

I continued my Portia Moore kick from August to September by reading another series which is related to the “If I Break” series. This one started with HER, MINE, THEM, US, YOURS, and ended with OURS. As much as I LOVE the “If I Break” series, this on the otherhand went on and on. I still liked it and rated high, 3 of them being 5⭐ and the last 3 intallments with 4⭐. By book 4 I was ready to wrap it up but I’d still recommend for you to read the entire series. I broke the Portia Moore fix by reading sequels to the novels I’ve read before then ended with Reese’s Witherspoon’s book club pick from January of this year. Overall, I read 9 books for September. How about you?

HER by Portia Moore: 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Love is something I’ve always been afraid of so I guarded myself from it. When I met Kam he changed everything. He smashed down the walls I had so carefully constructed around myself. He illuminated a world I didn’t think could ever be possible for me, that the dream I protected could become a reality. But Kam doesn’t know that my walls are up for a reason.

When I met Alana I wanted her from the moment I saw her. Tight black material hugged every curve of her body. She stood on heels sharp enough to slit a throat. Plump red lips…it was like she was straight out of Maxim—any man’s fantasy—but behind the sex appeal, smart mouth, and edginess…is something else. And I plan to peel back every single layer to find out what. (GOODREADS)

MINE by Portia Moore: 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

He was my secret.
He never knew my lies.
I was all he ever wanted.
He was the only thing I had.
She takes everything and leaves nothing.
I won’t share him.
I’d die before I let her take him.
Because I’m his and he’s mine. (GOODREADS)

THEM by Portia Moore: 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I wasn’t supposed to fall in love with Ian. I just wasn’t. Allowing someone to get close to me was never an option. No one was supposed to get in… But he was perfectly imperfect, as if he was made just for me. He broke down my walls and made me cross boundaries I never thought I would. But Ian doesn’t know the walls I had up weren’t to protect me.

I thought I was done with love, until I met Megan. From the moment I saw her I knew she was the one. Her past was difficult, and it forced her to construct walls of steel to keep everyone at a distance. I wanted to be the one to save her. I wanted to be the Prince Charming she didn’t think existed. Except the more I find out, I’m not sure if the girl I’ve fallen in love with has those walls up for her…or for me.(GOODREADS)

US by Portia Moore: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐

Kam
I didn’t know who I was falling in love with when I met her. I didn’t know the chaos that she’d create, the way she’d upend my life. I didn’t know that my sweet, innocent angel had a devil on her shoulder. But now she’s giving me something more—she’s giving me the family I always wanted.
And I’m not letting her devil take it away.

Ian
I lost her. My girl, the other side of my coin. I thought she was gone forever. But then she came back to me…changed. Different. But still someone I could love.
Now she wants me to let her go again. But it’s not just her anymore.
MeganMy whole life I’ve been making compromises to satisfy her. I’ve been living in pieces, and I’m done.
Everyone thinks they know who I am, what’s best for me. But it’s starting to feel like no one really knows me anymore. So I’m going to make the best decision I can… for us.

YOURS by Portia Moore: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐

Kam was supposed to be my future. I thought things would be simpler when I left Alana behind. And for a little while, they were. I fell for Kam.

I found a family. A home. People who loved me for who I was—at least, who I thought I was.
Then it all fell apart. I’m stronger than she knows. I won’t let anyone, or anything hurt my baby. But there’s myself to think of too.
Who I want to be. Who I love. What I want for a future that sometimes, I can’t even begin to envision.
When all of this is over, who is it that I can have a life with? Am I his? Or am I yours? (GOODREADS)

OURS by Portia Moore: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐
All this time, I’ve saved them. I’ve been the strong one, the stubborn one, the one who fights. Who bleeds. Who lost everything so Megan could have her time in the sun.
But now there’s more than just us to think about. There’s a baby coming, and whether it’s Kam’s or Ian’s, there’s only one chance for my future. We have to stop fighting each other. We have to become one. And I know what I want for us. It doesn’t matter whose this baby is.

This life isn’t just for one of us. If this ends in disaster it won’t just be one us at fault, it will be ours. (GOODREADS)

Rekindling Desire by Aleatha Romig: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐ (*REKINDLING DESIRE is book two, the conclusion of the Sinclair duet.)

In a blink of an eye, the tables turned. I’m Damien Sinclair, a man always in control. I thrive on the knowledge that my word is the final—gospel.
In the millisecond I hesitated… Gabriella Crystal stepped in. I’m damn glad she did, but I will forever be in her debt. Ella holds not only my heart, but my future, my company, and everything I hold dear in her hands. The love we once shared is palpable, a glowing ember in the dying ash.
