Culinary School Choices

My daughter is in Junior High School and we have been thinking a lot about what she’s going to do after graduating. She’s Autistic who loves art, games, and cooking. We’ve accepted and have made a decision that online school is probably what’s best for her once it’s time for college. I’ve searched about this topic for a while now. CulinarySchools.org is a good resouce place with extensive information and links to delve onto. There are information for Online cooking schools, online culinary schools, and online Culinary classes.

Right on top are the list of Leading National Culinary Arts Schools. It explains what’s expected realistically what’s in store in the culinary world as well as a long list of schools to choose from. It also explains the differences of the designations. Are you interested in a Certificate programs, Associat Degree, Bachelor’s and of course Master’s. The top schools include French Culinary Institute in New York, The Culinary Institute of America, International Culinary Schools at the Art Institutes, Le Cordon Bleu Academy, Johnson and Wales University, and New England Culinary Institute. There is a list of regional schools as well, such as Arizona Culinary Institute, Culinary Institute of America, Florida Culinary Institute, Institute of Culinary Education, New England Culinary Institute, Italian Cooking Academy, Pennsylvania Culinary Insitute, Scottsdale Culinary Institute, Texas Culinary Academy, University of Phoenix, Western Culinary Institute and many more.

I told my daughter she could take classes for Hospitality Management which will prepare her for a job in a dream family restautant that we’ve been thinking about. Hubby and I have like a 7-year plan where I would finally open my dream Asian-American fusion restaurant. It’s something I have thought about, written menus about, and hopefully one day open. Being in the food and cooking business is not just being n the kitchen. Gotta learn the business and management sides and the Hospitality side as well. CulinarySchools.org explaines as;

..a broad employment category that includes front desk managers, food and beverage directors, restaurant managers, chef/managers, and even hotel and restaurant general managers. Similar responsibilities and the universal goal of providing quality guest experiences link the sectors, but the specific path to employment presents some options for students early on.

Also, I like how there are link to what kind of Chef do you want to be. My daughter loves Baking maybe because baking is usually about desserts and well, who doesn’t love a good chocolate concoction or a pastry goodness?

As I contemplate on this research expedition in preparation for my daughter’s future after graduating High School, I found some links in the Health category too which is important if I say so myself. I love food and cooking but I’m also in my health and fitness ers. I believe it’s important to have that kind of balance. I have 2 mantras in my health journey. They are, “Moderation is the Key” and “I workout because I love to Eat.” I follow Intermittent Fasting and for exercises I dance, walk, do Pilates and some strength and toning. I try to be as active as I could be. Hubby is the same way with his morning Yoga and walks with the dog. Anyway, I found the Weight Loss Calculator and Workout Calories very helpful. I try not to focus on calculating my food but I am also  kinda obssessed with data so I try to strike a balance in feeding my curiousity, HAH!

CulinarySchools.org website also has some fun kids games if you’re looking for some play and diversion as well as education purposes with your children. Kids can learn about recycling and farming through a game. I love the BENTO BOX game. It’s the cutest lunchbox puzzle game that I’m pretty sure your kids will love enjoy too. The Amazing World of Gumball Water Sons is a 30-stage puzzle game with Gumball and Darwin work together to solve them.

The “Go To Market” and “Kitchen Word” games are great for kids in learning to match and identify food items. It’s very educational for the little ones. Then of course there are the fun Brain games for adults like Tetris, Mahjong, Mahjong Solitaire, and all sorts of card and board games. It’s a fun place to play around with to sharpen the noggin. Enjoy.
