October 2024 Reads

For the month of October, I read another series from Portia Moore(August: “If I Break” series, September: “HER” series). This one is totally different from the aforementioned 2 which I was happy about because my brain was a bit saturated with the subject matter from the last 2 series. Collided, Crushed, and Committed are quite a deaprture but still sensitive, uncomfortable, and would implore you to ask yourself, could you do the same? Gotta read the 3 books to find out. Then the last 2 books, “The Family Upstairs” and “The New Husband” were great reads as well.

COLLIDED by Portia Moore: 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Once, I thought I had found “the one” – he was rich, handsome, and irresistible. But there was a catch; he had a wife.
That betrayal left me scarred and wary of love. I’ve sworn off romance, or at least I’m supposed to be done with it. Then along comes Alex, the sizzling-hot bartender who not only becomes my friend but my confidant and biggest supporter.

Did I mention he’s drop-dead gorgeous with a body that could make anyone swoon? I’ve built walls around my heart, but when he smiles at me, my pulse races, and my body yearns for his touch.
Maybe, just maybe, I can convince my heart to take another chance, even if it means risking everything. (SOURCE: GoodReads)

CRUSHED by Portia Moore: 4⭐⭐⭐⭐

I never thought love was something I could ever have.

At one point I had been fooled with some version of it—lust wrapped up in a package resembling love—but when I met Alex I realized everything I ever felt for anyone before was just a cheap imitation. What I had with him was new, exciting, authentic.

For the first time in my life I saw a future for myself that included someone else. And for the first time I wasn’t afraid…until I met Alex’s dad and saw that fate wasn’t going to give me a break.

It wanted to decimate me. If Alex ever finds out the truth, it will crush me. It will crush all of us.(SOURCE: GoddReads)

COMMITTED by Portia Moore: 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My life exploded in a matter of moments.

One bad decision led to another, and what should have been the happiest time of my life became the worst I ever experienced. I never wanted to fall in love. It just happened.
I’d do anything to avoid losing it, but I have to think for someone else now. It isn’t just me…but I will do whatever it takes to make things right.

I’m committed to it.(SOURCE: GoodReads)
