Boil water to cook the egg noodles al dente. Drain the water off once egg noodles have cooked but save a cup of the water.
Brown the chopped bacon. Add the chopped onions to soften. Then add the flour. Whisk to make a roux. Add the milk and continue to whisk to blend everything together. Stir in 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese to melt. Preheat the oven to 350°
Add the reserved water and sliced mushrooms. Season with garlic powder, salt & pepper. Stir everything together and cook for about 2-3minutes or so. Stir cooked egg noodles.
Transfer the whole thing in a casserole dish.
Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese. Bake it in the oven for 25-30 minutes.
