Bread Pudding With Caramelized Apple

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf bread
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp powdered cinnamon
  • 2 apples peeled, cored, cubed
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp powdered cinnamon
  • Pam Spray or butter

Instructions

  • Grease a loaf pan with pam spray or butter. Set aside. Chop the bread into cubes. In a container, beat the egg yolks then whisk in milk, heavy whipping cream, sugar, and vanilla. Stir in the bread pieces into the custard mix. Cover the container then store it in the fridge to soak for 2-3 hours. Once ready to bake, caramelize apple with brown sugar in a small pot. This takes about 12-15 minutes or so. Keep stirring so it doesn’t burn at the bottom.
  • Preheat the oven to 355°.
  • In the loaf pan, layer half of the soaked bread at the bottom. Add the caramelized apple on top, then the remaining soaked bread. Drizzle any remaining juice from the caramelized apple on top. Place the loaf on top of a sheet pan then stick it the oven to bake for 45 minutes.
