Irish Soda Bread With Raisins

Ingredients
  

  • 2 3/4 cups flour (+extra flour for kneading)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 sm packets of raisins
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 stick melted butter
  • butter to spread on top

Instructions
 

  • Grease and sprinkle a little bit of flour into a bread pan. Preheat the oven to 375°
  • In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add the sugar and raisins. Make a well in the middle then add the beaten egg. Stir everything together then add the buttermilk.
  • Also add the melted butter.
  • Combine everything together to form a ball.
  • Sprinkle extra flour into a working countertop(island).
  • Knead the dough until it comes together and a bit firm.
  • Place in the prepared bread pan. Bake in the preheateed oven for 40-45 minutes or until slighlty brown on top.
