Greek Steak Kebabs

For our 4th of July dinner grub I made Greek Steak Kebabs with peppers and red onions. Something different from the pork kebabs that we love. I found this recipe from an agricultural magazine which name I can’t recall at the moment. I saved and thought I’d make it sometime and figured July 4th would be the perfect day.

Greek Steak Kebabs

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2-3 pounds sirloin steak sliced cut in cubes
  • 2 red bell peppers cut into chunks
  • 2 yellow peppers (green peppers are ok too) cut into chunks
  • 1 large red onion cut into chunks
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tbsp oregano

Instructions

  • In a bowl or measuring cup whisk together lemon juice, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, honey, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Place the sliced/cube beef into a ziploc bag. Pour in the marinate into the bag. Gently massage the beef and marinade together. Marinate for 2-6 hours.
  • In another bag place the chunks of red and yellow peppers and onions. Toss it around with olive oil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Marinate as well for 2 to 6 hours.
  • Once the marinating process is done, thread the steak and veggies alternately with wood or metal skewers. Grill for 3-5 minutes per side.

VOILA! It’s grilling season time so you might as well try this recipe too.

Served with grilled garlic bread.
