Hello, my name is Dexie Jane Wharton and welcome to my website.
I am 47 yrs old, wife and mother of two(Caine 25, Emma 17). I was born in the Philippines but migrated to San Diego California USA where I eventually met and married my husband. He is from Upstate New York who got stationed in Camp Pendleton around ’97 which somehow brought us together. Destiny, perhaps? We’ve been married for 26 years. I have one brother, a retired US Army. I also have two half-siblings who live in San Diego with my Dad and stepmother. My Mom died of leukemia when I was 10 yrs old and my brother was 8. I think about her all the time and miss her so dearly. As you get to know me more(if you haven’t already), you’ll find my affinity for butterflies everywhere. A butterfly appeared and landed on my knee on the day she died, with the colors of her most favorite dress. Butterflies represent her presence and how I hold on to her memory. 🦋
Feistymomma.com has been my blog site for such a long time but is currently going through an overhaul due to some major technical issues. I apologize if past articles are now missing. With that said, I hope you stick around as I rebuild this blog of mine. I’ve been a problogger/freelancer since 2006 and this blog also serves as the home for some product reviews, collaborations, press releases, and sometimes sponsored posts. Under the Menu bar you’ll find a category called POTPOURRI. This holds posts relating to entertainment and 90% Philippines showbiz. Its original blog home was Filipinas In Showbiz which I started back in 2009 but a few years ago I’ve decided to move it all in my main blog. I did the same thing with my food and cooking blog, FEISTYCOOK. FeistyISMS category will hold entries for my dance/fitness trying to be active and healthy journey and some opinions on various hot topics. My daughter is Autistic and you’ll find posts on this topic along with a healthy dosage(not too much) of our life under the FAMILY category. Other categories are pretty much self-explanatory. Feistymomma.com in a nutshell is one mish-mash of lifestyle blog that I keep and try to maintain online.
Back to a little 411 on me, I love to cook, dance in my living room, has recently taken into sewing, and binge-watches too much TV which includes KDramas, historical dramas, and I’m pretty sure an excessive unhealthy dose of Crime/Murder mysteries/dramas/documentaries. I like to believe or at least try to convince myself on a daily basis that I balance all that out by being a bibliophile. I have 3 tattoos. A blue butterfly for my Mom with SDCE initials on my right ankle, the letter D with 3-d Hibiscus on my right back shoulder, and my Mom’s name with her favorite flower purple orchid under my left collarbone. I don’t really like talking about myself so the one way you could get to know me and my personality somehow is by reading stuff on this blog and through my social media channels.
PS: I like the Royal family most especially the Prince and Princess of Wales and their 3 adorable children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
