Turkey With Injectable Marinade Seasoning Plus Butter
I believe it was 2016 when I started using a bottle of injectable marinade seasoning with my Turkey. The marinade already has butter in it but I still rubbed the outside of the turkey with softened butter for an added crispiness and flavor. Find them at your grocery stores which I’m sure will have them on shelves soon if they haven’t already. The marinade bottle comes with the apparatus to inject your turkey with so you don’t have to worry about that.
Here are my Turkey from 2016 to 2019, injected with the marinade and rubbed all over with butter before roasting in the oven for the recommended time per pound. My technique is this: Preheat the oven to 325°. Cover the roasting pan with 2 sheets of foil. Basically, the roasting pan with turkey will have a foil tent cover. The rule is 13 minutes per pound. After about 3 hours of cooking, take the foil out. Cover the legs and wings with foil to avoid over-browning those parts. Place the turkey back into the oven to continue cooking. A thermometer should register at 160° when you check for doneness.
I would probably do the injectable marinade and butter route for our Thanksgiving this year too. How about you?
