My Top 12 Favorites From #GMAGALA2024
Let me start this list of my favorites from the recently concluded #GMAGALA2024 by saying, MARIAN RIVERA will always be a Hall of Famer to me, personally. The night before the GALA itself, I posted a question on X(Twitter) asking how she would top her look from the 2023 GALA. Marian embodies understated classic and timeless elegance. She prefers cozy and comfortable, she will experiment once in a while but she would ALWAYS look STUNNING and POWERFUL in her signature look. Because of all these things, I decided to not include her in the my Top 12 favorites. If you’ve been following me on social media and reading my blog, you should already know that MARIAN RIVERA will always be above anyone else in all of my lists. 😍☺️👑
True to her understated classic and timeless elegance style, Marian wore a gorgeous Nicole + Felicia couture black tube top column-dress encrusted with Swarovski crystal rosettes, Bottega Veneta Himalayan Knot clutch, and Sergio Rossi platform sandals. With that hair and makeup, everything is PERFECTION! Nicole + Felicia, FYI is the designer of Taylor Swift‘s gowns during the “Speak Now” set list of her sold out Eras would tour. This is not the first time Marian and Taylor have worn items from the same designers but, I digress. Maybe sometime I’ll write about it. Let’s get back to the GMA Gala…..
Without further adieu, here are the 12 looks that I like from #GMAGALA2024. Like I’ve said in the past, these are my choices, not necessarily yours because we all have preferences. Don’t take it personally.
Julie Anne San Jose was sultry and fierce in Michael Cinco feathered bustier couture gown. You can never go wrong with Michael Cinco. Julie Anne’s glam team completed the look with Jennifer Behr and Love Rocks Jewelry accessories with an old-Hollywood hair and makeup that were just perfect for her overall look. It was very smart for Julie Anne and her Style Team Studio 24c to get a Cinco dress because to be among Michael Cinco‘s formidable list of Muses which includes Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, just to name a few and of course, Marian Rivera and Pia Wurtzbach, is a feat and what couture dreams are made of. 🙌🙌👏👏 Frankly, Julie Anne shoulve won the Best Dressed award that night and for her not to is a big question mark?? Hey, that’s just my opinion of course.
Barbie Forteza went for a Princess style ball gown which spoke volumes of her status in GMA Network. Because indeed, she is the network’s Primetime Princess. With this ball gown from Mak Tumang, there isn’t a doubt in anyone’s mind Barbie’s place in GMA Network.
Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Nola Gabriel was regal and every bit of a Beauty Queen in black mermaid tulip gown from Ehrran Montoya. This is top-notch glamour.
I’ve never been so happy to see Carla Abellana looking so statuesque and glowing in her shimmering champagne gown from Rian Fernandez. Carla is a beautiful actress but her previous glam looks are always 50/50 for me, personally. Sometimes it felt too heavy or too dark. This year is different because she looks gorgeous and this whole look fits her. 👏👏
Max Collins in Tom Ford and Bvlgari accessories. Sleek and straight to the point kind of glam.
Winwyn Marquez was giving off Demi Moore glamour with that straight black hair and black bustier drape tulle gown from Ryan Ablaza Uson.
Michelle Dee is always ready for her catwalk. She looked gorgeous in her custom-made sheer gown from Francis Libiran with a new pixie hairstyle.
Ysabel Ortega made a statement in this Julianne Syjuco tulle ruched drapery white gown. I’m gving her style team Styled By Cath such major KUDOS because they know how to dress a young actress who is becoming one of the important stars of her network. This whole look on Ysabel is absolutely perfect for her age and her growing stardom.
Glaiza de Castro had FUN! She had fun at the red carpet with her old Hollywood flapper-esque shimmering strapless gown from Neric Beltran with tulle drapery.
I absolutely love the simplicity of Megan Young‘s colorblock cutout gown from Marc Rancy. The crystal flower detail on the waist was Chef’s Kiss!
Coleen Garcia was stunning in her black gown from JustBonita. There was drama and glamour in the lace cutouts and tulle tulip hem of the gown. Love it!
Bea Alonzo is my wild card. I loved the silhouette of her white turtleneck sheer gown from ALAIA but was not toally sold on the pouf detail around her hips. But here’s the thing, Bea’s style is always sleek and streamlined but she always adds panache by carrying a statement detail into most of her glam looks. In 2022 she wore a simple black vintage Dior dress by John Galliano with a black one-shoulder cape from Rajo Laurel. Then on 2023, she wore a white corset gown with a fiance(who is now an Ex. sorry, I went there ☺️). For 2024, she wrapped her hips with a poufy accessory. Vogue PH thought it’s a dramatic punctuation to her look so who are we to argue with Vogue?
