CHEESY-GARLIC BREAD
Instead of just making regular garlic bread, I decided at the last minute to use up the remaining shredded cheese from the frittata breakfast yesterday morning(will post that sometime this week) by sprinkling them on top of the bread before broiling it for a few minutes. It was a really good twist to the bread and everyone loved it. Cheesy, garlicky, and buttery bread, YUM!
First of, thereβs only 4 in the family so I only used a half of the bread and saved the other half for some other time. I just wrapped that half tightly with a foil and stored it in the freezer. But if youβre feeding more people, go ahead and use both halves and increase the garlic-butter ingredients.
In a bowl, combine softened butter with garlic powder, dried basil, dried oregano, salt and pepper. Mix all of that together until well blended.
Spread it evenly on top of the bread. Then sprinkle shredded cheese on top. Place the bread into a sheet pan, stick it into the broiler. Cook for 6 minutes. Keep an eye out on it so you donβt burn the whole thing.
Slice it up in 6 pieces and serve.
I served my cheesy-garlic bread as a side dish to cajun spiced fried chicken(recipe sometime this week too) alongside corn. I shied away from the usual mashed potatoes and served bread instead. This will be great with pasta dishes and soups too.
