DISCUSSION: Should Celebs Agree To Take Photos W/ Fans During Private Moments?

First of all, THIS shouldn’t even be a question!!! It’s called BOUNDARIES. Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray is currently on the viral end of a TikTok post from an account @FredVReviews, reposted on X/Twitter by the account @AldenFanToh because Catriona [allegedly] said NO to a request for a photo while she was lined up, standing, and waiting at the airport.

My answer to the question “Should Celebs Agree To Take Photos W/ Fans During Private Moments?” is a BIG FAT NO! These celebrities are entitled to have their private moments, to run their errands, eat at a restaurant especially with their children, spending time at the park, watching a movie, shopping, enjoying the zoo(or whatever), working out at the gym, running, cycling, etc… without some stranger(regardless if you’re a huge fan or not) asking for a picture. If a celebrity said NO then that should be respected. NO is a complete sentence. This is something people should really learn as we all go about our lives. If a celeb agreed to one picture then that sets up a situation where all of a sudden everyone wants to take a picture then that might/probably cause delays or chaos for other people who are just going about their days too. This is one big reason why Taylor Swift(and other A-Listers) travel through a private jet.

The notion that “Celebs are famous because of the fans” doesn’t give people permission to their own entitled attitude. Understand that they deserve their private moments as well. They are not at a “Meet & Greet” or a mall show to promote a TV show or movie, or at a conference, or autograph signing, or stadium events, or anything related to their work schedule.

There are some celebs who would or at one point or another agree to a few photos but I sure hope that if they said NO, especially when they are with their children that we give them the grace to leave them alone. And certainly not post videos online for them to get bashed and hated on. Maybe they’re having a bad day(they’re humans too), or they’re irritated(it happens to the best of us) at what that bank teller or airline agent said so smiling for a picture at that particular moment is really not something they feel like doing, or they’re going through a family crisis/emergency and would really want to reach their destination in peace ASAP, or their child is missing his/her nap and they’re trying to avoid a major sensory meltdown therefore they don’t need strangers bothering them at that moment, or they don’t feel at their prettiest and would rather not have their face plastered on social media for netizens to judge and pick apart on. TOO MANY SCENARIOS that shouldn’t have to be explained to appease your egos and feelings.

Again, NO is a complete sentence. If they said yes, great, but Celebrities or not, respect people’s boundaries.
