Are You Team Vice Ganda Or Team Heart Evangelista/PA Resty??
In a viral video last week, people relished(me included 🙋♀️🤷♀️, HAH!) on how Vice Ganda mentioned Heart Evangelista‘s name, not once but twice, while the “It’s Showtime” host was sharing a story about a school without any reading materials. Anne Curtis was on the show too, nodding in acknowledegement that Vice mentioned it to her before. (Video link: https://x.com/viceganda/status/1981597785863717285)

A lot of netizens have concluded that Vice was seemingly calling out Heart on the matter of the province not being provided for what they should have.
“Bulok yung paaralan dun sa lugar nila Heart Evangelista.”
Was Vice Ganda right in mentioning Heart’s name on the matter? Shouldn’t it be the elected politicians in that province responsibility to do the job? To be fair, Vice didn’t say it’s Heart’s fault. That people thought it was a call out directed at Heart in this particular time where CORRUPTION is the biggest topic says plenty of what the public is thinking about and that they’re sick of this BS from the government, politicians involved, their tone-deaf wives and children.
Chiz Escudero was elected Governor and served in 2019 to 2022. Before that, he was representative of the first district of Sorsogon in 1998 and served until 2007. Then he was elected Senator in 2007, run for VP in 2016 and lost. Fast forward to the present, he is a Senator again and was the Senate President, his name is most prominently involved in [alleged] flood control insertion funds, corruption, and political campaign donation issues that has dominated the Philippines news for months now. This is where Heart’s name is being dragged. Because she might have worked all her life and her fans claiming she’s born rich heiress, her blatant ostentatious lifestyle is tone-deaf for a politician’s wife and one that did not start at least 2 years after she married Escudero in 2015. It’s idiotic to ever think that she hasn’t benefited from her Husband’s political career. There is a difference between being a fan to just being intentionally obtuse and ignorantly blind about it. *KNOCK KNOCK, is anyone there??*
Heart has also used “Mahal Kong Sorsogon” as her tagline for years. Her last(?) teleserye was titled, “I left my HEART in Sorsogon.”
Anyway, Heart’s PA Resty took umbrage towards Vice Ganda’s words. While they all argue about things, I think the most interesting part of this and the crux of the matter is that Heart’s peers are talking, privately or otherwise, about what the Philippines is going through and somehow perhaps looking at Heart in a different light, as the wife of a Senator [allegedly] involved in the sickest disease of the nation, ridiculously posting and boasting her privilege, crying on a LIVE video about not being able to go to Fashion Week, sharing a photo of her smoking a cigar(or blowing some kind of smokey whatever the f that was?) in her tub & possibly flipping everyone off(how VERY Marie Antoinette of Love Marie Escudero), while the constituents in her Husband’s province are not being served properly, so to speak.
At this point, people including Heart’s colleagues in the entertainment and fashion industries are most probably side-eyeing and have discussed behind closed doors her tone-deafness and blatant disregard for it all. That’s gotta HURT but not as hurtful and horrible as how Filipino people are suffering and doesn’t seem to see any kind of hope or end of their problems in sight anytime soon. 😤😡🤬
