Solenn Heussaff Issues An Apology: “I did not want to romanticize the poverty of the everyday Pinoy”

Solenn Heussaff appreciates all the encouragement she received yesterday amidst backlash of her photo to promote her upcoming art exhibit but she’s thought about the comments a lot and she wants to apologize to those who were hurt. Solenn considers the debate and what happened an eye-opener as well. It was never her intention to romanticize the poverty but rather “honor our people by being truthful about the kind of life a lot of Filipinos live today and to show that Filipinos deserve better.” Solenn explained that it wasn’t about rich or or poor but about the people for who they are – humanity.
