#AUTISM: Basic Life Skills
Spending Her Bday Money/Teaching Her Basic Life Skills
Before Emma bought new games at Game Stop she also purchased a couple of items at Walmart. She swiped her gift card but for some reason it wouldn’t work so she ended up paying w/ cash. The point is, she’s learning and doing basic life skills. That she has the confidence to do these things on her own. She can order food at restaurants, socialize(to a point), do house chores, her own laundry, cooking(she loves to bake and wants to be a Chef), remembering when to take her medications, etc. It is a process and a bit different with some challenges ahead but we know that she’s very much capable of living a “normal” & functional life. And that’s ultimately our goal for her. I am aware and do acknowledge that this isn’t always the case in some children under the Spectrum. 💙💙💙. Thank you to the cashier for being so kind and patient. We need more like her in our tribe. ❤️
