MUST-WATCH: Netflix’s #TheEmpress And GMA Network’s #MariaClaraAtIbarra
I am currently obsessed with 2 series right now. “The Empress” from Netflix and “Maria Clara At Ibarra” from Philippines’ GMA Network. The former has 6 episodes while the latter is on-going in the Philippines and just finished a very successful and applauded pilot week.
I watched #TheEmpress in 1 day. I ate it all up and now I’m planning on going thru the 6 episodes for a second round. The story is based on Austrian Empress Elisabeth of Bavaria, played by Devrim Lingnau. I ❤️ Queen Sisi and I want to know more about her. I hope there are more seasons to come.
#MariaClaraAtIbarra is a historical-time travel series from Philippines’ GMA NETWORK created by Suzette Doctolero. The story delves onto the Jose Rizal’s novel, Noli Me Tangere(Touch Me Not). The acting is superb 👏🏻👏🏻, period costumes and details are PERFECT, cinematography is AMAZING, and dialogues transition from 1887 to Gen-Z angst seamlessly which relates to frustrations of governance, politics, and socio-economic issues that are currently happening in PH as we speak. Highly recommended. If you like K-Drama Joseon-era genre (minus the war scenes ☺️), you’d love this. 👍🏻👍🏻
