Ayala Foundation, OCD, and World Bank Launch Nationwide Disaster Preparedness Campaign with Dingdong Dantes as Ambassador
The Ayala Foundation, in partnership with the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and the World Bank, is launching a nationwide campaign aimed at strengthening disaster preparedness and building community resilience across the Philippines.

Actor and TV host, Navy reservist, and advocate Sixto “Dingdong” Dantes III will serve as the campaign ambassador. He will appear in educational videos designed to raise awareness about disaster readiness, which will be shown in Ayala Malls cinemas and other Ayala-owned properties nationwide, including BPI branches, Globe centers, and Ayala terminals.
Recently, Dingdong Dantes met with key officials from the Office of Civil Defense — including Deputy Administrator for Administration, Assistant Secretary Bernardo Rafaelito Alejandro IV; CAPT Junmar Sales, PN (GSC), Commander of the Naval Reserve Center – NCR; Paulo Luciano, Manager of Mr. Dantes; and Beejay Torres from the World Bank. During the meeting, they discussed the campaign’s objectives and Dantes’s role as ambassador.

The launch is tentatively scheduled for late June, most likely in the third or fourth week, at Ayala Malls Manila Bay, with disaster risk reduction partners expected to participate.
The OCD is also exploring a partnership with the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) to air the educational videos at airports. This initiative aims to reach travelers and airport staff, raising awareness about disaster preparedness among the traveling public.

This collaboration underscores a strong public-private partnership dedicated to promoting disaster resilience. The goal is to empower Filipino communities with the knowledge and attitude needed to better prepare for and respond to emergencies. (SOURCE: Civil Defense PH)
