Kyline Alcantara Talked To COSMO PH About Her Upcoming Series, Beauty Empire & Working W/ Barbie Forteza
In Kyline Alcantara‘s cover feature with Cosmopolitan PH, she talked about how she’s drawn to taking challenging roles that pushes her limits. She likes the nuances of characters and loves the “mata-mata” acting. She also beifly discussed her upcoming series, Beauty Empire, opposite GMA Network’s Primetime Princess Princess Barbie Forteza. Kyline shared that even though they’ve never worked in a drama together, she’s a fan of Barbie and she admired her body of work, acting, and work ethic. Kyline is looking forward to learning a lot from Barbie and the other cast as well.

Kyline is riding the wave all the way. She’s gearing up for her next big role as Shari de Jesus in the highly anticipated, star-studded series Beauty Empire. When asked why she took the role, Kyline didn’t hesitate: “It was so well-written that I just cannot skip it,” she says.
More than just another project, Beauty Empire felt like the perfect opportunity for Kyline to take on bigger, more impactful roles—ones that would truly leave a lasting impression. “I’m looking for different challenges in my acting career, and it feels like Beauty Empire is the new start of it,” she says. “It will be the catalyst for how I will choose my roles in the future.”
Just days before our shoot with Kyline, it was revealed that she had already started filming for the series, alongside a powerhouse cast including Barbie Forteza, Ruffa Gutierrez, Sam Concepcion, and Choi Bo Min. For Kyline, working with such a talented ensemble was a dream come true. “Exciting. Powerful ensemble. The plot that will keep you in your seats,” she teases about the show. “To say that I am so excited to do the project would be an understatement.”
It’s her first time working with Barbie—a moment Kyline’s clearly excited about, especially with all the growth the series promises. “Being in this series is like living a dream of the seven-year-old Kyline… Definitely, little Kyline has just checked one entry from her bucket list,” she notes.
Beauty Empire follows the story of Noreen Alfonso (played by Barbie), a CEO who rises from poverty to seek revenge on the powerful players in the beauty industry who once wronged her. And based on their script reading clips, Kyline just might be one of Barbie’s formidable foes on screen. “I’ve known Barbie for so long, and I’m a fan, but we’ve never worked in a drama together. I always admire her body of work, her acting skills, and her work ethic. I know that I will learn a lot of things from her and from my other castmates as well,” Kyline shares.
